I have a fire place. The wife makes sure I have plenty of wood for it she loves it. When she “Yapping” to much in the evening I just build a fire and about 20 minutes she’s out like a light the perfect knock out drug. Lol

Today on the Hobby Farm the wife and I stacked the Firewood the little barn. Then I mixed some Chicken Feed haven’t done that for years. With the price of feed and the uncertainty of getting the feed I want which has already happened once this year I decided to start mixing my feed to last longer and more beneficial to the chickens. I added Corn, Black Sunflower Seeds and the Laying Pellets I always get. I always feed Cracked Corn in the winter to help keep them warmer but never mixed it. After that I clean and organized in the Barn been wanting to do that for some time. It’s starting to feel like old times on my farm just need to get a Jersey Cow, Goats, Ducks, and Rabbits. Lol Maybe a Jersey Cow though.

Hi Lee
Glad things are all working out for you. You've had a tough time over the past year or so so deserve some good fortune. Definitely a Jersey Cow - think of all that cream :smiling:

Jim thanks. It’s been a year this week since I’ve had Covid Pneumonia. I’m getting a little better every month. Jersey Cows give the best Milk I think and there Cream makes the best Ice Cream also. I had a couple at one time the best Cows I ever had.

While cleaning the Barn up yesterday I found these. This was one of my old Jerseys Halter and Ear Tag that I removed after she passed away so I hung them up in the Barn. She was 14 years old. I had her for 12 years she was like a pet very gentle and loving l miss her still today she was like part of the family. Here’s a few pics of her and her calf.

Hi Lee
You mention ice cream. We were on holiday many years ago when the children were young. We went to a place called "The Ice Cream Farm". They sold ice cream made from the milk/cream from their own herd of Jerseys. The children still remember it 30+ years later.

Yes it is that good the Jersey I had was at a County Fair the owner asked if I wanted to try some Ice Cream made from her Milk/Cream I said yes it was so good I talked him out of her and her calf she had I bought them both on the spot.

The fire looks really good, I'm sitting here with my open fire going, they just feel nice to sit in front of on a cold night. Better still when the wood is free!

Coming on nicely Lee. Would love to have a fire/wood burner but the previous owners largely bricked up the fireplace, so it will be an expensive job to get it fixed.

Glad to hear your slowly on the mend too after your Covid scare.

ATB.
