An ebay purchase.....................

One that I've been bidding on for a year or so - finally a 'buy it now' at a reasonable price!

First 1/56 scale kit in my stash... it looks simple but allows some nice details.
The kit offers the opportunity to build one out of 4 possible tanks. The "semovente" (self propelled) solution allows to build some nice interior details.

The impressively large decal sheet offers even more options for each of the 4 possible outcomes.

Just a pity the kit doesn't include a second hull so that, with just one sprue more, Italeri could have offered 2 tanks in one box... the box is already large enough.

So nothing too exciting.....I didn't need this much decal fix and matt varnish but it was going very cheap albeit with a minimum order...it will last me for a while...

The decals at the bottom are census numbers for British AFVs..

For Andrews' lack of taste for chocolate or alcohol.
It was only hot chocolate.....in hindsight the lack of a taste for alcohol saved me a fortune.....14 years of my working life was spent in law enforcement in London, I'll leave the rest to your imagination! :smiling5:

So some arrivals yesterday.

The decals are for Junior's Corps level reconnaissance regiment, the Inns of Court. These should have arrived a year ago but there was a mix up at Dan Taylor Modelworks and so the wrong ones arrived. At the time Dan sent some from his personal stash and promised to send the correct ones once reprinted....I forgot to chase him and he's been very busy but sent them this week when I reminded him.

These are a reprint and slight update of the originals from 1984 and 1991 published by the Tank Museum. I don't have either. They should have arrived in September but there was a problem and so the museum gave everyone who ordered them 15% off at the shop, which I of course took advantage of!!

This is the nice little 'box' they come in.

Sorry about the glare but they have a very glossy cover!

I bought some 1/72 Jet Pilots off ebay - pleased with those, so got these from the same seller :

RAF WWII pilots in 1/48 some have masks on, some don't. They need a sharp knife to remove a few bits here and there - but look OK ( <£7 delivered )

Junior was given a Challenger Mk 1 at a model club night. He's a bit past it at 13 but he enjoyed it nonetheless. You're grandson will love it!!

Hopefully - he seems to take an interest in the ones we've got about here, though whether as toys or ornaments I'm not sure
Hopefully, it'll also re-ignite his dads interest (who at least took his Subi kit home with him at the weekend;))

just the right width for 1/9th horse reigns;

no more trying to stick tamiya tape back to back or trying to cut lead strip in perfect lines

I had something big something very very big delivered and the book as well. IMG_20211214_135145.jpg
But something caught my eye on the box. IMG_20211214_135203.jpg
Depends on how many pieces you want it in.

I've seen that flat lead strip advertised recently and thought it was a good idea. Webbing, horse reins and much more :thumb2:
