Scale Model Shop

Latest Acquisitions (2021)

OK,My turn then.......
.... Not saying that i`m predictable at all,BUT,EVERYTHING i had for Christmas was modelling related in one way or another:astonished::tears-of-joy:.....
First up,my liking for Trucks hasn`t gone un noticed by Wifey!!,(Over the last few years i`ve built several of the "Classic" ones from various eras),here`s two from two extremes of the spectrum....

I do like Italeri stuff, not the TOP kits.... but i love `em!!.... The Blitz is one i`ve wanted ever since building the Henschel, and,(apart from the 2 figures:loudly-crying:),looks quite nice. As for the Gun Truck,WELL,it`s absolutely RAMMED with parts and some nice "Extras",it`s a new one on me as well, looking forward to that one:thumb2:.
Next,a FABULOUS book.......
xmas1.jpg
Don`t be fooled by the title.... it`s not just Tanks..... it`s AFVs of ALL types,I have several AFV ref books in my collection, and,in my opinion, this one is STREETS ahead:cool:.
And,my lovely Step Daughter even got in on the act!!..... This will be my first foray into a larger scale plane ala my mentor in Wingy things Mr.Mickc,(Although he doesn`t know that!! ;):tears-of-joy:),She must`ve been spying on me as this was in my Amazon Basket since last week, and then "Hey Presto" i open it!!
xmas 3.jpg
Plus some Tank Museum Slippers, and the Tank Museum Tank book!!
I`ve been a very, very, lucky boy!!:smiling:..... Now just need to clear some space in the "War Room"!!
Andy

Hi Andy, mighty haul of goodies thete

But that books faulty, theres something missing off the front??

That looks very cool indeed!
Those things must've been ENORMOUS.. even in that scale it still checks in at 400mm plus eh?!
Nice one,
Andy

Yeah, she's as long as an A3 cutting mat. There are three little sprues each with a Sherman, 6-wheel truck and 6-wheel armoured car.....

Nick.

Well (Mrs) Christmas has come again bearing modelling supplies (amongst other things) - don't know how I'm going to find time to build/read all this though! Once I've finished the Bussing NAG and the 'shelf queen' of the Bergepanther I'll doubtless find time! Once again, thanks Kate!

Nice haul Lee, as for the Sherman, the M4A3 is Tamiya's first Sherman kit so many would have built it. Its a rebox with the added figures.
The two boxes of figures are classic early Tamiya offerings and still are nice for dios with a little deeper engravings of the detail.

Cheers,
Richard

I built that Sherman a few times in its original guise. Yours seems to identical aside from the tracks, figures and having more accessories. As Richard says, it was good for its day, and because it’s Tamiya it will still assemble easily — it’s just a bit dated now you can get much better-detailed Shermans from the likes of Asuka, Meng and Rye Field Model. Nothing major wrong with it except that you shouldn’t fit the additional armour plates on the hull sides unless you also change the engine deck and hull rear plate to those of an M4A2 :)
