Scale Model Shop

Kerploosh! An attempt at a 1/72 'Splash'

Hi Ron
Both excellent. Both have captured the moment. Both have good and less good aspects.
Personally I reckon the third will be perfect Mind you Mrs Ron must be getting really fed up with - "If you're not too busy sweetie could you please come and lob a couple more models for me"
Jim

Personally I like this better than the first. It has the shape and weight of water impacted by a heavy object. The second picture shows it off best. Only thing I think is missing now is a bit of “sparkle” on the spray.

Ron

Looking very good in either case. I wanted to have a look on a proper screen rather than my phone.

On balance I much prefer the first one, albeit it is a bit 'wispy' in places - but that is being VERY picky indeed.

A great execution as always.

Thanks again for your comments and suggestions, boys.

Here is my final attempt. I've tried to incorporate all your most excellent suggestions in this last stab at the moment of impact as an aircraft crashes into the sea.
It's been fun altering and adding stuff as I read all your excellent contributions.
Thank you.

For better or for worse here it is...

Cheers.

Yep, that's the bad boy all right, you've totally smashed this effect buddy,

that B&W image nails it perfectly.. (probably because we were all bought up seeing B&W pictures of the war in books etc...…..can't wait to see what get's thrown into the air next...)

Thanks for the great feed back chaps.

Sometimes this 'Critique Corner' gets a bit picky with unfair and unhelpful comments being posted. Not this thread. All good and constructive comments.

We got there, didn't we? Well, at least it produced summat that is satisfactory to me and those wot took the time to chip in their thoughts.

Thank you.

Thanks John and Chris for your earlier input.

A team effort for sure and I'm chuffed you both approve of the end result.

I love this! Totally believable - I just wonder how you managed to get anything to stick with all that water sloshing around! Lovely job.

Dear Mr 570 .
May we at Race Towers Award Committee congratulate you on the latest offering.

Perhaps in this case the Dogs could be substituted with the Giant Clam award .
Any way well done .

Thank you Chairman 453.

You have yet to forward your new bank details to enable me to continue donating to your organization.
Also, thanks for inviting me to your party last Christmas. You were right when you said at the time "We'll never keep this a secret"

As the others have said I think you've nailed it.

It really is amazing to watch you come up with what you do time and time again.

Again, here we can see great imagination backed up by great execution. A deserved winner of the Dogs/Giant clam award!!!

Very well done indeed.

ATB.
