Get behind me Satan....
I mean.....DAVE!! ;)
...Oh,ok then, I'll take a look :smiling3: !!
Andy
Actually Dave has form for this sort of thing..... Not that he may realise it......but it took 18 months to spring into life...... Keep an eye on this thread later today....

Good evening all

So there have been some recent arrivals at my abode this week....

First off these. It was actually cheaper to buy two small ones than a big one due to pricing and P&P anomalies.....never used it before and have a cunning plan!

Now onto the biggies......

As you know it was our 20th wedding anniversary a couple of weeks ago and these are my present (my wife is getting a ring BTW).

As you will see, most of what follows is a deviation from the one true scale of 1/72........all I need to do is find a place to keep the boxes.... :tired:

This is for my 'Hunters and Hunted' collection (link HERE).

I actually managed to pick it for about £10 less than the RRP. It's also a sentimental purchase, as I built one as a child and thought I had to get one when Airfix released the new tooling.

This is actually Dave Ward's fault, not that he may remember. He built this about 18 months ago and when I said how much I liked their 1/72 stuff and liked the look of this, he said I should give this a go. Thanks Dave!

I liked the look of this when it came out. They're actually hard to come by now and after much searching I found this for £10 less than the RRP.

Finally this.....

I have wanted to build a decent Churchill for some time now for sentimental reasons. Both by grandfathers worked for Vauxhall during the war, with one being a toolmaker for them. He had volunteered for the RAF but was deemed to be in a reserved occupation because of his skills.

I deny all knowledge of this! It wasn't me, I was in Patagonia at the time, someone hi-jacked my account.............
but.............
I'm more than happy to recommend models for forum members to spend their money on! I'd only do that for models I've actually made, and enjoyed........................
Dave

I’ve not built any of those except the Churchill (well, another variant of it), but that is a really good kit. It is AFV Club, however, so even though it fits well it can be a little fiddly to build. Most importantly, don’t try to build the suspension like the instructions suggest :)

Ok. Will come back to you on that when I get to it !!

Dave......

......patagonia......account hijacking....I think I need to have a word with Matron about these delusions of yours!! ;) :smiling5:

In all seriousness thanks for the recommendation. I've obviously left it in the bags until I get around to building it, lest I loose any parts, but it does look very good. It's also sooooooo much larger than my usual 1/72 kits!!

Thanks again.

Morn Buddy,

Nice haul of kits there Andrew. Looks like you will have a lot of fun building those. Oh, and don't worry about Dave. It's probably just something in his water. A fine single-malt whiskey maybe...............

Oh, and now that you will be working in 1/35 scale, I guess we will have to call you "Mr. Big", huh???........

Prost

Some nice looking planes there Alex:cool:,
I`ve also been a bit naughty........
3 kits.......
Something OLD,if not the first kit i EVER made as a young lad, then it`s certainly close to it........ Just a bit of a trip down memory lane,it`s even the same "Bagged" example.....

Next,in line with my current liking for slightly unusual looking AFVs,another Mirage kit.......

Finally,and i have NO IDEA WHY!!:flushed:.........

...... guess i`ll be doing a little WW2 Diorama in the not too distant then!!
Andy
Like me Andy , the Red Barron was one of my first, built, painted and hanging on the ceiling with in the day . Unfortunately mother got caught up in it and threw it in the bin :crying: Suppose she thought it was a bat in her hair

Funny how work boots are the only thing that you wish didn't look brand new when you buy them.

/ Gonna feel a right plonker at Travis Perkins on Monday.

........ Ooooops........
