Quick question about that: does the parts breakdown give the impression that a version without the turret could also easily be released? I ask because the Scimitar Mk. 2 is basically a Scimitar turret on a Spartan hull, and I have wanted to build a Spartan for years, having ideas to use AFV Club Scorpion/Scimitar parts with a mostly scratchbuilt hull. If Gecko seems likely to release a separate Spartan kit, that would make this so much easier :)

It is a Spartan hull Jakko, but you would need other parts ( that aren’t in the box) to convert it into the Spartan. But Accurate Armour do do a 1/35 Spartan, if you really want one.

I know, but I didn’t feel like tackling another of their kits :) I guess what I’m asking is: in this Gecko kit, is the upper hull separate, or maybe part of a sprue with Scimitar Mk. 2 parts, or is it in a sprue with parts for the rest of the hull?

Two Evilbay purchases; one a success and one a fail....
Success;
1-32 Airfix 1912 Ford Model T.jpg
Offered to me by the seller for less than the original price - for conversion to an ambulance to go with my Tommy's War Nurse.....eventually.

And the fail;
E-Bay Fail.jpg
I paid WAY more for these spare parts than I intended because I accidentally put two 0s on the end of my bid, making it the highest bid by a LONG way.....DOH!
Luckily for me it topped out at £28.50, but I really wouldn't have bothered - all I really wanted was the Airfix Frenchie to go with my others, and I thought the Historex legs would be handy for that .But now I'm Bloody Well going to use them, to justify the expense!
Caveat Emptor, as they say :rolling:

Neil think we've all been there at some point when buying a kit. Good job you didn't add another 0 then.:anguished:

These arrived yesterday at the post room here at Race Towers.

Some French advertising items .Have thought they are too good printing wise to cut out some stained a piece of standard printer paper with a tea bag ! Once dry I scanned one of the sheets as a test.

Ignore the black lower section, that the reason it was a scrap sheet !
Think they look aged , anyone think the same or have other ways of aging please say .

I've used pastel powders in the past as they are friendly to the image and you can darken them a little at a time till satisfied. :thumb2:

Good to know Rick, thanks .
Going to try several methods of distressing some of the adverts as want then to look both old and new.

They look good John.
Thanks Jim .
Realised quickly once I'd cut up the sheets that would be it . The tea stained paper was ok , but even better was finding out I could actually create wear on the poster . Taking the scaple and gently scraping would give give the impression that it had been ripped. Didn't want them all to look new .

Never seen that plane before Dave. Should be an interesting build…..there’s something of the pulp action film about it…..

Very different sort of subject there Nick. Looks like another version of Simon T’s wascally wabbitt with the figure as well.

A failure as a replacement for the Seagull/Kingfisher. Only US Navy operational plane in WWII NOT to have a radial engine!

I watched a build vid on the tube.... you get two girlies with the 'lambo'. Sourcing a modern lamp post or other suitable scene garnish.

Sorry for the late reply Jakko, it looks like the hull is just for the Scimitar.

That’s the only hull you get.
