Great to meet up with the other guys, well worth the trip. Some superb models there. Not many traders, which was a pity as I wanted some paint!
I couldn't leave without buying something though, so came away with this for £9:

I've never heard of the maker but it looks pretty well moulded. I like armoured cars, no tracks and no canopies to mask! Speaking of armoured cars, there was a fella out in the car park with a 1:1 Daimler Ferret, which was rather interesting.

Really good to meet up with everyone and finally put names to faces. It really was a most enjoyable day.

Steve, that's for posting the pics. I'll have a look later.

Had a great day, nice to catch up with Mike , who had a blistering award of medals and Pete after a break of two years of cancelled shows. To meet Andrew and Steve. ( Steve after 6 years of being online friends and his lovely lady Lisa, . Think we would all agree it was a good show , I'll post some photos tomorrow.
I have to thank Steve for sending me that T34/ 76 and for letting me keep the medal ! for our joint work.

Ha John...I knew you had an accomplice to nick the silverware together. You guys are a real pair...1/72 and 1/35 scale size respectively.
Kudos to the win both of you. :thumb2:

Cheers,
Richard

John, I think I mentioned to you at St Ives that I was a bit worried about one of my tyres losing pressure? It first happened a couple of months after having two new front tyres. Couldn't see anything to cause it, neither could the tyre dealer, so ignored it. (My car has tyre pressure monitoring, so I wasn't too worried, but I checked it mid-way to and from St Ives anyway). Last year again it suddenly lost a few pounds. Happened twice within a few days before St Ives so I took the car into a local independent tyre place on Monday. They found a screw in the middle of the tread, worn to the point where the head was barely visible, so it had been in there for a long time! Luckily it could be plugged, so I was on my way again 10 minuted later and £20 lighter!
If that screw had been the problem all along, it had been missed by the MOT tester and also the main dealer that does my annual service, as well as the company that fitted the new tyres. :disappointed2:
Seems OK now though.

Pete,

The Scalemates entry for JB Models can be found here. Airfix acquired JB Models in 2007 and re-boxed some of their range in 2008 with the Saracen on sale until 2012.

:astonished::surprised: It would have cost around 2 Quid if repaired here. The tyre would have been inflated slightly more then immersed in a drum of water inspected for bubbles then object removed and hole patched with some sticky stuff plunged into the hole, rechecked in the drum of water. No need for balancing as the tyre position is marked and placed back in the same nut positions. Also around 10 minutes.

Cheers,
Richard
