Hi, I had look around the internet and Key Publishing have it reduced to £5, in their bookazine range. It is also available in digital format from pocket mags.
Search - Airfix Model World Special Edition 2018.

A lot of answers came up but some were 99 quid would you believe, and I noticed one at £6.99 I nearly pulled the trigger before reading the blurb, which stated "digital reading"
I'm not sure I want it in e-book style, just the mag if it's possible?

Just to let you all know that I received the kit from Airborne 1 (Steve).
but it's a Hawker Sea Fury.
I did let him know in case he wanted it back, but he generously said keep it or pass it on.
I love the kit, so gonna keep it and have a go at it soon.
love the fact there's the option of raising the wings, which looks so cool.
I understand the Sea Fury was on HMS Triumph after the war and into Korea? (Dave)
I'll still hopefully get the Supermarine Sea fire FR.46/FR.47 soon and build that after.
now to get the paints. :smiling3:

The Dark Sea Grey over Sky is a lovely scheme - a little research will tick all the boxes mate!

Yes I love the colouring, and as I would ideally like to use enamel with brushes (what I was used to), I'm not sure if Revell enamel are any good?
through some research I found that Revell' s are a bit "mushy" (thick ) and doesn't spread so easily as Humbrol. ( I stand to be corrected though)
but Humbrol seems to have a substance in it that is unhealthy?
I'll get into Acrylics and air brushes later (I hope)
The EU have identified traces of a chemical that is linked with potential cancers in laboratory animals - strange that I've never heard of anybody developing cancer from Humbrol paints and I've used them since my first forays into model making in the late 50's :thinking: Revell paints have never given me problems either! (And there's always thinners!)

Actually Steve, I have. Way back though, and reported in a RM magazine I think. It was a professional modeller that sprayed enamels pretty much daily without lung protection in the days before economically available spray booths.

Never heard of health and safety back in my apprenticeship day's, and worked with all types of materials, although not paints (was an apprentice Mechanical engineer).

I used to know a professional ships' painter, who had dermatitis so badly that he had to wear cotton gloves filled with Vaseline. If he didn't wear them and clenched his fists, the skin on his hands would crack and bleed. That was from washing paint off his hands with turps.

HI Bob id like to just chip in here with my opinion an thats revel paints are not as good as humbroll an wont give good coverage as humbroll as ive used humbroll all of my 60 odd yrs of model makin an never had any probs an i still use humbroll rattle cans sprays on my tiger i'll only use revell paints if i cant get them in humbroll

I had a search around my area and could onluy find a model shop that sold Revell paint's.
So it looks like the older shop's have stopped stocking?
I've seen Humbrol on line, some at a cheaper rate too, so probably go with them (cross fingers)

BUT be careful if you use diffenrent paint togeather as some may attack the others that are on the model an this is called crazin so try it out on a spare bit of plastic before goin onto the model as i always try them different paints an varnishes togeather on a spare bit of plastic as i cant afford to damage an exspensive model like my tiger
