WELL CHEERS Garry on that gun turret an yes i think you are right we are our worst critics but it was just how i felt when i had finished the build as i said it all went near wrong an that put my mojo down but now lookin at it on the ship with the good big 6 inch gun turret it to me is aceptable as im hopein to make it train left an right so all is not lost but failure to me from my work is not acceptable as thats how i think an iove you I /D buildWell I think that is pretty damn good Chris, as you say you can always come back to it later if you feel like it.
Just bear in mind that we are our own worst critic.
Garry
HI John well first i thank you for your idea but the main trouble is twofold an one i think i may have got c/a on the hinge bar when i covered it over an two now the main problem is that i cant fit a metal rod on the gun mounting that pulls up the guns into the elevated postion as its got to be flexible an for that ive just fitted in a bit of wire to pull the guns up an on the big gun they are heavy enough to come down by gravity as the prob is i cannot fit a metal rod as when i tell the servo to go down no probs as that means the turret has self centered but when i hit the button to make the turret go the other way the gun mirro servo if fitted with a non fleible bar will try to push the guns downward an the guns will hit the deck an may cause the servo to burn out an catch fire which is some thing i dont want so i cannot see anyway out of it an John i cant leghthen the servo arm or shorten the wire that works the guns as not enough space as it only 1 inch space in that turretChris
Both guns look very nice to me. I wonder if the 3" guns won't go down because the fulcrum of the servo connecting rod is almost aligned with the pivot point of the guns, when elevated. If you either lengthened the lifting lever on the gun, or reduced the length of the servo lever maybe this would fix the issue.
John

HI Jim the guns train ok but no guns elevation yet till the gun fire unit comes an when that will be have no idea as i think the gent is still working it outJim very pleased that the guns are working ok. Each successful step is a step closer to her maiden voyage.
