1/700 scale IJN Ships make over

Thread owner
Decided to let the Village People runamuck on the ships...some were disciplined but the others just mingled on deck. This is just the start of less than 100 figures...

Piccies are horrible with bad lighting...

They ought to be arrested for jay walking.

They want you,
They want you,
They want you as a new recruit……

Who me? But I’m afraid of water :anguished:

There's always the army :tears-of-joy: ...same guys same outfits but in camo guaranteed you won't get your feet wet. :smiling6:

Great work, Richard.

I guess the captain was fine to let his good people out on the deck for abit of sun and breeze. Sailors don't look so good in pasty skin. ;)

Thanks Hong, more like asigning them to deck duty and of course the sun.
Micro Mini sailors!! Insane but good!! How's your eyesight now Richard?
John.
Thank you too, John, I had to stop at thirty for an eye rest. Will be chugging along with the rest of the ensemble of Village People. Also the white glue I used tend to make the figures sway back and forth like drunken sailors until the glue stiffens.

Cheers,
Richard

And I thought that some of Tim's figures were eye strainingly twitchy!!! These are looking fine onboard.

Thanks Jim, tbh I had to touch up the figures with white again as the varnish darkened the colors a little. The painting technique was simple dots and I was amazed at the etched lines for belts, pants, boot puttees and collars.

Richard

Hi Richard,

Scrubbing and cleaning the boat makes a happy captain, eventually easier life for the sailors on board.
BTW, what size are those tiny little sailors?

Yes, happy captain and crew all singing YMCA and In The Navy... in Japanese of course :tears-of-joy: They're 1/700 scale and just about 3mm in height.

Hi,
Fitted in more figures and made up some extra boats to fill up the harbour.
New angles...IMG-20220820-WA0036.jpgIMG-20220820-WA0038.jpgMerry sailors on the Hatsuyuki singing YMCA...
IMG-20220820-WA0040.jpgOthers waving back from the Matsu replying In The Navy...

While the crowd is gathering as some work.

New additions are still in grey plastic but that's where they'll be when painted up.
So far 117 figures and counting...

Richard

Hahaha, true. I suppose the Japanese might be happier if they are allowed para para sakura.

Laid down some deck colors on the new boats with the airbrush and Tamiya Desert Yellow and White then spot with Red Brown.

Thanks Steve for watching from afar...must be even tinier from that distance, great eyes you have. :tears-of-joy: Sorry, I couldn't help myself and really appreciate you chiming in and commenting. Stay safe my friend.

Richard,

I love the details mate, this is turning into a beauty.
Happy you like it. I'm enjoying every bit of it and having a ball creating scenarios with the figures. I'm preparing a detachment of Japanese Marines marching towards the Kuma which is about to dock.

Cheers,
Richard

Hi,
My detachment of Japanese Marines have been deployed...all 56 of them. May need to tie up some loose ends. I took 3 angles and you will see why PE isn't the best as in profile they are somewhat flat.

It all depends on lighting as the shadows help take some of the flatness of the figures...left right left right...nah a brisk walk across the jetty link. Too bad I don't have the stomach to kit them up with rucksacks and rifle.

Cheers,
Richard

Looks good, they definitely add some hustle and bustle and bring some life to it
