I've had a loss of mojo. the last week or so - no interest in finishing what's on the bench - I had a spike of interest, and had a look in the shelf of doom - I found this:
Looking in the box, I'd made a start by waterlining the full hull & adding the deck. Otherwise the two sprues looked complete the decals & instructions for the Yorktown were there, so I decided to see if I could get enough interest together to do a bit of assembly - nothing lost if I make a hash of it. I wondered why I had stopped making this, but couldn't remember.
CC Lee were ( are? ) a Chines outfit that used to sell knock-offs of other Chinese makers - these Ticonderoga Class models closely resemble Shanghai Dragon/Pit-Road/Dragon products - they used to pop up in discount stores occasionally at silly ( cheap! ) prices.
I found out why I'd stopped making this - the instructions bore little relation to the parts! One sprue was OK, but the other looked to be fine, but where the instructions called out several pieces for the superstructure the sprue contained only one piece combining about 5 parts in the instructions. It looks like the instructions were copied, but the toolmaker made short cuts making the moulds ( easier - cheaper ), and the changes weren't picked up!
What I thought may be a mojo restorer, has had the opposite effect - the bits are back in the box & retuned to the shelf of doom - grrrrrrrrrr.......................:angry:
