Scale Model Shop

Well that was a crap day!

All the best Tim, good to hear that at least the NHS is still working back in Blighty.

John

Tim. Sorry to hear about uour woes and wish you a speedy recovery. The NHS is a wonderful institution the only thing wrong with it are the people that run it.

Cheers Lee. Don’t knock YDH until you’ve tried some alternatives :tongue-out3: I’ve had several dealings with them since I moved down here and in all cases response times have been superior to Salisbury District Hospital (SDH), for example, which I was under for most of my life. SDH has a much nicer building though, all airy corridors and natural daylight…..YDH feels like an underground bunker ;). Certainly not design by anyone that understands the principles of infection control, too much HVAC and not enough fresh air……
Don’t go to Sherborne that often, but I’ll keep it in mind :thumb2: Herself gets down there twice a week for work so it’s a bit like taking coals to Newcastle…..
Are there any good shows or shops in that area? I know about most of the ones in North Somerset, and have yet to get down to the Sprue Shed in Ilminster, but haven’t looked around the South of the county much.

There nothing to do with model shops in the area other than Hobbycraft in Yeovile or Frank Herrings in Dorchester.
It's a pretty little town with a stunning Abbey... that's about it really?!

Sorry to hear you're unwell Tim. It doesn't sound pleasant.

I'm glad you're being looked after though by the professionals and hopefully they'll have you fully mended soon.

Mike
Cheers Mike. Very kind of you.

So sorry to hear about this, Tim, but glad you acted promptly and got a quick solution. Take care pal
N
Cheers Neil. Not so much me acting promptly…my wife turns into Matron when she puts her professional head on.

Tim,
hope you are feeling a bit better & now you've started the treatment process, then things can only get better..............
Unfortunately we only hear the bad stories about the NHS - I reckon the majority of people have good experiences, I know I have, but happy stories don't make good headlines!
Dave
Cheers Dave. Too right they do. Only the bad stories sell papers as they say.

Hope you feel better soon, I had my Booster on Saturday 12pm by 1am my heart rate was through the roof and was panting, needless to say with throwing up a few times i didnt get much sleep, prob worrying i had myocarditis didnt help :smiling5: :rolling:, but all good now.
Not good Steve. Mine was nowhere near that pronounced, so I just kept thinking “it’s the booster, it’ll go in a couple of days”… turned out to be a lot more serious….under treatment now so on the up though :thumb2:

Sorry to hear about your problem Tim.
Wishing you all the best with your treatment. Glad you aren't under GWH Swindon, the worst hospital in the country.

Bill
Cheers Bill…..no bad hospitals, just bad board level senior managers who couldn’t direct traffic!

Wow Mr. Marlow, it appears your luck of late hasn't been too good. Great to hear you had good service and a quick diagnose of the situation. I hope the treatment rids you of the problem and life gets back to normal ASAP Tim, otherwise we'll have to take you out in the back 40 and put you to sleep......Or, maybe to vets...........

Gute Besserung
Allen
Vets are pretty good around here as well Allen :tongue-out3: Got the diagnosis today….quite sobering judging by the mildness of the symptoms.

Sorry to hear youre having a rough time Tim , needless to say sending best wishes for a speedy recovery, cheers tony

Hope all goes well Tim.
All My doctor ever says when I say I get short of breath and sometimes dizzy, is a rather rude "loose some weight and we can talk about it after"!
Not great. I know what caused mine now and it was quite a sobering discussion! It went pretty well, by the way, and if your symptoms persist insist on a proper check up of your cardiovascular system.

John
Cheers John. The NHS is working damn hard John, far beyond its design envelope. The way the staff are treated by political management is frankly disgusting though.

Cheers Scottie. You are not wrong there……anyone that seeks high office should be automatically barred from taking it in my opinion……

Crikey Tim, that doesn't sound too good at all, take it easy mate and get plenty of rest, and above all else Get Well Soon mate

Well, I now know what the problem is…..
You just know it’s not going to be good news when the consultant says “wow, I’m surprised you managed to walk in here that well after what I’ve just seen”……. and I was slowly hobbling in using a stick as support…..
Turns out I have a Deep vein thrombosis in my left leg, causing the pain. That has developed a side salad of Pulmonary Embolism in my lung, hence the breathlessness. Quite sobering as this can easily be fatal if not corrected….the clot was almost certainly caused by the immobility following my recent severe RA event.

I’m now on blood thinners for six months with regular checks to ensure they are doing the job breaking down the clots as required. I’ll take that as a good result.
Excellent service at YDH again, despite their working capacity being pushed to the limit. This was obvious because overnight the department’s consultation cubicles had been filled with beds required for medical patients so that hospital throughput could be maintained. Despite this, the staff were again consummately professional, dealing with their patients compassionately and with the minimum of fuss in whatever space could be made available. They deserve so much more than this
