Hi guys does anyone belong to IPMS? just wondering

Yep - there are many regional IPMS branches - I'm a member of the Portsmouth branch in the UK.

Our branch is mainly focussed on aircraft but there is a smattering of armour, ships, sci-fi and cars. I build almost entirely armour but they still tolerate me ....

Not everyone in the club is an IPMS member - if you can find a local branch I'm sure that they would let you attend a couple of meetings for free to see what they're like.

Like any club you'll inevitably find in-jokes and ancient banter but most of the IMPS members I've met at shows have been perfectly welcoming and chatty.

I'm in Mark's camp.....belong to an IPMS affiliated club but am not a member myself.

I wouldn't mind joining but the nearest chapter is in the State of Washington........at least a 5 hr. drive. :rolling:

Well it appears you can enter the competitions with out a fee, I know this because when I go to St IVES, I pay and Mike ( Is It Me ) doesn't. Suppose there must be other benefits, there's a dinner, ability to book for shows .

JR. I do not belong to the IPMS, used to , but then changed to the MAFVA. But I still have to pay for my entries to the competition classes.

Yep, I’ve renewed ready for Telford.

I was in two minds whether to go but as it’s on the doorstep it would be a shame to miss it.

Geoff.

I'm going. It's two and a half hours from me by train, so I'm staying Saturday night and have booked tickets for both days. :flushed:

Wasn't going..... But am now.. Just Saturday.... junior is also coming..... Booked into a premier Inn half an hour away.....

I'm considering the possibility to join IPMS next year.

So not only am I going to the show......I now have money to spend!!

My birthday is not far off and so my mum has given me money for my birthday, so I can get something I want and my daughter has told me what her budget is for me for birthday and Christmas.....so now I have £80 in the pot.....it might not be as much as some will spend but it's £80 more than I had this time yesterday!
