Latest Acquisitions (2022)

Has to be worth asking them surely? They might be sitting on a pile of the parts you need!

Evening Pete,

AFV Club/Model Fan in Taiwan no longer produce the kit (for quite some time) and are of no help, but I am going to call the German distributor, MBK, in the morn to see if they can hook me up with something. Thanks for the push my friend.......

My last purchase for this year was delivered.
52451872654_351961ff70_b.jpg

A rather large box, 24"X16" and full of beautiful plastic and metal, the metal parts being adonised forks, springs and a lot of screws and a few nuts. I know it is quite expensive but if I am out on my motorbike 5 days a week I will have spent about £50 on fuel and coffee and perhaps the odd bacon roll, but as the bike has not moved in a month the model is paid for with the money saved. :smiling5:
I also bought the workable chain which has many small parts to fiddle with.

Andy.

Thats because you're mixing all these float thingy colors with it 'Admiral'......................

Anyway, I haven't been a good boy either and evilbay has struck twice again. First,

I bought this kit cheap because I can't find the AFV kit of their roadwheels/track set AF35043 and I needed the 2 A sprues,

These went into my AFV 251/21 'Drilling' kit which was missing them. If one day I do find the set AF35043, they'll go into this kit. The next one is interesting as it's sold as a bulge pack and comes without destructions and the regular carton,

It's a re-make of the 2005 ICM kit by Revell. Revell re-made this in 2013, and again in 2021 (with paints & glue). The decals are dated 2021 and I have already gotten the destructions downloaded. Best thing was the price.......€16 delivered...An offer I couldn't refuse!!!...

Hi Allen, have you thoght of making your own ( resin casting ?

Not very exciting but I'm pleased.
My Optivisor is getting on for 10 years old and the padded leather comfort band had gone all sort of perished and manky. Ten years of sweaty forehead :rolling:
Found a seller of replacements.

Can you say why it has a line of spare tracks on the front armour like that , is it to help a Russian SU - 122 run over it ! :smiling3:

Hi Allen, have you thoght of making your own ( resin casting ?

I did have that idea Jim, but casting is a dark art to me and getting the materials needed would cost more IMHO, than it would be worth. I am going to shoot a mail to AFV Taiwan as my importer here can't help. I hope you are doing well and even back at the bench too. Take care and thanks for the thought, Sir...

I use the red and clear versions, no problems. Its very thin and in my opinion works very well

Hi Allen, let's just say life at the moment is as easy as a set os Dragon instructions, as regarding the dark art of resin it's not as hard or expensive as you think, it's me put his guide to resin on here, all the best Jim

Something I've wanted to add to the build stash for a while now. A pal of mine has one he wants building in RAF livery as his dad flew in them so will probably be a tandem build with his.

An Ebay 'best offer' purchase..................
tamiya vampire.jpg
being trying a few 'best offers' recently - success rate is less than 1/10, tricky to post a 'best offer' that is acceptable, and not insulting!
