Well I have to say these little toon kits really are delicious. Some of the parts actually snap together, they fit so well. Cut, sanded and glued in a few hours this wet Saturday evening. It'll need a bit of further attention (filling and sanding) before it gets it's first coat of grey :)

Hi Dale
These "toon" kits are fun. Very clever in the way, despite all the distortions, they are still clearly recognisable.

First coat of grey undercoat applied Monday. The Mig paint is nice, but I think it's made for airbrushes!? Anyway, a second coat will go on this evening, and should cover it nicely ready for further painting.

I do love these Toon tanks..... Not used Mig paint so can't comment on the thickness of it..

ATB.

That Tiger revived an almost faded memory... a famous italian comic strip of the 70's depicting what I would definitely describe as a toon Tiger tank.

Balloon translation: stop acting like an idioten! - the characters speak a germanized (if germanized is an existing word) italian.
and some nice toon Pz IVs too

Balloons translation (please, read with a strong german accent :smiling4:) :
Let's join that steel avalanche in an irresistible assault!
Straight forward!! this is the road leading to victory!!!
Hey! That's the road to victory!
You guys are stupid. It's in the opposite direction!
Ach! we need more road signs...

...and that's why MiniArt is producing all those road signs kits. :tongue-out2:

So after a long time a second undercoat has been applied. The Ammo stuff is very nice with two thin coats.

Very nice Dale, yes the paint is made for the AB , but can still be brushed . Got a feeling it's made for Mig in the states by Badger. Someone will tell me if I'm wrong .

Ordererd some Geman Grey for the Tiger last week (Vallejo 995) and what arrived was flat flesh (955), so more delay. On the plus side ther flesh will be useful, ad the seller said keep it for free. Anyway the Tiger finally has a dark grey coat now. So, anyone have experience weathering German dark grey? I'll try a pure black pin wash to bring out detail, and I can see dry brushing getting a look in too. I intend to use it as a learning experience, and try some dot filter and wash effects, but top tips appreciated. Photos to follow...

Pure black will probably be too stark, I’d recommend a wash of, say, 50:50 German Grey and black. You can always go over it with a second, darker wash if the effect isn’t to your liking yet :)

On the other hand, this is a toon model, so the effect of a black wash might just be what it needs.

So. Finally. Progress! Painted, (slightly) modulated and decals applied.
Next, tracks.

And a little more. Not sure about the blackening of the barrel. Thoughts anyone?

Nice tank, Dale.:thumb2:
Barrel blackening: IMHO a touch of black (wash, pencil lead, pigments or whatever method you prefer) on the muzzle brake would give the right amount of black shading to the barrel.
If you want to "take a walk on the wild side" :rolling: a hand waving a handkerchief from the muzzle brake (see my post here above) would be an original and very "toonish" detail. :tongue-out3:

Dale, that looks great as to the smoke on the barrel it is perhaps a little over done but still looks good.
