Last Saturday I was In Verona at the Model Expo. It was big, bigger than last year's edition, almost chaotic I dare say, but very interesting.
Here are some pics I hope you'll enjoy.
Let's start with winged things:

Thanks Andy. Some great kits. Thanks for sharing!!

Love the ramp for the RC Panther.

Noticed a lot appeared to be in glass/perspex boxes. Is that usual?

What a superb collection of quality builds. A feast to the eyes. Going to make our stuff at Harrogate look like amatures.

Thank you, Andrew.
In the past two editions not so many models were "under cover". This years almost all small and medium scale models were under a transparent box and, considering the large number of visitors, many with children and/or dogs, IMO that was the correct decision.
Just as an example of passion driven behaviour the models had to go through, I saw a rather mature man landing a kiss on the 1/32 F104 (see winged things section); he was very delicate, but I guess the modeller felt a cold shiver down his spine!
Unfortunately it was a nightmare for me and all those who wanted to take pictures with non professional cameras/smartphone. In fact I had to work a bit on the pictures published here to correct, as much as I could, the weird effect of a perspex surface between the model and the camera.

Last but not least: believe me or not, I didn't buy anything. (see also my post in "How do we know we're getting older")
My wife did: a couple of LEGO Christmas-related boxes.

What a wonderful show, but could you get around it all in just one day?
Pete

Some excellent builds there thanks for sharing. That metal fuselage dauntless is stunning.

Thanks Andrea, looks to be a great show, I also noticed the many surrounds to the models. Always a worry when someone leans over to take a photo.:thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2: Well done .

Very good show. Thanks for sharing the photos Andrea. Enjoyed looking at them.

Cheers,
Wabble
