Brian's actual 1/200 Yamato build

HI Ian look at the name on the post ?
Ah ha! Got it right. My bad. I have corrected the error. You could say I have discombobulated it. Lol

Brian sorry for calling you Bob lol. I have been up since 4am..

That PE is just a WOW , those curved sections are great.
Nice build, you should be proud Brian .

Looking good mate, pva works quite well on a primed surface and excess can be cleaned off with a damp cotton bud.
Mark good call with the white glue made it a lot easier cheers m8 :)

LOVE them guns Bri they look very realistic brilliant modelin an i would have loved to build her in a big scale but a chap from exssex had one in 1/96 scale an two other big models of the mussiuri an the bristish battle wagon vangard an would loved to see them altogeather on our Nowich pond but mick had them all workin from one R/C so impossible but what models they were but i dont think he built them as i think he bought them from other modellers but a pity as i have lost contact with him so wheather he still has them big models i dont know but he bought them in a big van

Thanks Chris I'll stick to out the box modelling for the time being. I need some help with weathering as the ship is a dark grey colour i'm thinking the weathering won't show up much ......any pointers guys:)

WELL Bri I cant help you on this wheathering lark as i treid it on a ship so did my mate with havin rust streaks but his an my attempts were rubbish as you need a A/B to do it proberly an thats something we havnt got but anoth mate has one an he let me borrow it but in my opinion it was crap as it kept packin up an it was very niosey an well but im sure there are others who can who know what they are doin

Just caught up again Brian, this is one hell of a build, outstanding work on the PE and overall build. Should be a stunning build when completed.

As for weathering, ideally you will give the model a satin or gloss coat of clear, if you use acrylic then better off using oils or enamel washes, enamel clearcoat then acrylic washes, i would suggest checking utube videos to get an idea,

Fantastic etch stud as always Brian. As to weathering, I would limit it to a few streaks on the hull sides, it’s not as if she spent months at sea is it…..
She would look great from a drybrush with lighter grey and then a pin wash with darker grey to bring out the texture, but with all that etch work she is probably a bit fragile for that approach…..

Great job Brian. I would be a very happy bunny if I had just half of the confidence you have in dealing with PE and CA.

Guns finally done but I left some very small stuff off I'm not happy with myself but it just wasn't worth the grief they were literally difficult to see.
