More breakdancing by the other side of the group...this time with straps on.

The straps were a pain to add on not conforming to CA quick enough.

Great look Wabble .Some of the best moves I've seen to date.:surprised:

With your "ribs" JR.....you might not want to try any of those "moves"!! Matron would surely hear your cries for help no matter where she's at!! ;)

Straps look good and add a lot to the "action" Richard.:thumb2:

Hey Richard, I have finally figured out what you do for a living. You run a dance studio in town!!! Where else would you get all these great ideas for posing your dio figures and your dance music knowledge!!! Fess up buddy and fill us in...

Great scratchy and these figs are fantastic, Sir!!! A question though...Do you ever have probs with the glue you use to attach the pouches and accessoires on them? I would think that handling them, some of the pieces would fall off. You use CA, I take it...BTW, how are the monkeys' doing???...

Prost

Everyone

I know that Mr. Race and his committee have sole authority to decide the Dog's award for modelling. However, representing the North American continent, I have decided to institute a special award for outstanding Scratchery.

So I am pleased to award the first of the Simon T Memorial Scratchery awards to you Richard for outstanding scratched cosmetic surgery.

P.S. If you are new to the site and do not know Simon T then I am sure you cam still find some of his threads on the site.

That's such a wonderful idea John. Simon was one of the best and I still miss him and his works, to this day...

No he wouldn't JR......he'd find something missing or out of alignment and make certain he pointed it out to the poor unfortunate that committed that particular SIN!.....I do miss him, he always pressed me to go that extra bit to make a better model. :thumb2:

A well deserved award.

What with this and Neil's topic I'm amazed what can be done with figures. I had trouble just getting a drivers hand to reach the steering wheel :tears-of-joy: so I'm in awe of you both.

What a wonderful idea. He was a great modeller and a great guy. I miss him being around.

Thank you all, John R, Rick, Neil, Jim, Allen, John B, Andy T, Paul and Andrea for the kind comments.
Well I've watched my sisters and their dance troupe do their thing and my family listens to all kinds of music from the Mills Brothers to Military Tattoos, rock, blues, new wave, old wave, whatever wave but I definitely don't run a dance studio. :smiling2:
Definitely honoured to be the first recipient of the Simon T Award and miss his scratchery especially splitting a tank hull in half just to reduce the width by 3mm lengthwise or him posting replies on my time frame as he literally builds at odd hours. What a wonderful idea for the award.
The only accessory that is glued are the weapons and straps as the rest are made from putty which is sculpted in situ. I found a way to apply CA in large amounts and wicker away the access by scraping with a sharp blade towards the joint as it cures. It disappears or evaporates and leaves no residue.
On the hand reaching the steering is about the same as the hand gripping a rifle...you cut the hand at the wrist and finger joints to wrap it round the subject then connect it to the body with wire measured from shoulder to elbow to wrist. Then putty and sculpt the sleeve. That's the only way I know. Hope it helps.
Figures are primed and zenithelled. Found some areas I missed scraping the mold lines.
Am overwhelmed by the surge of replies.

Cheers,
Wabble

A well deserved award Wabble, they should have a dance off with Neil’s Iwo Jima guys

Perhaps a foxtrot together. :smiling6:
No contest-mine are doing Sleeping Lions!
Ready to pounce...

Anyway here are the figures after the grey priming that showed missed mold lines and then a coat of Nato black and zenithel with dark yellow and topped with white...
Warning...it's going to be picture heavy...
