Figure Painter's Could You Please Help

Chris, if you are trying to run 4 motors in parallel off one ESC then that could be the problem with the ESC overheating, using two ESC's will cut the current draw and should be OK. Not trying to tell you how to do your job just things I learned from flying electric powered model aircraft.

They're excellent John! Just one thing though - all of the ship's crests I've ever seen include the mural crown , even on the tompion badges

HI Steve yes the crown would have been nice but with the crown on it would have made the badge that much smaller an John as really done well to even paint the tiger badge an there may not be room on the bridge for the crown as i think thats why John has not painted it on an i may include a crown if there is room but John has done a fantastic job on them badges well done SIR

Here are my efforts. They vary from approx 11mm to about 15mm. I did a few so that I could practice and you can pick the size you want if you like them. I have given them a coat of UV resin since I know they may be going to sea and that should protect them. PM me your address and I will send them over in the canoe.

Those are superb, John!

Chris

I have packed up the canoe and the badges are on their way. The local Abenaki tribe told me it should take about 10 days.

Chris, it wasn't uncommon for RN war canoes to have related badges/emblems affixed to the uptakes. (Funnels). Some of the warships on Cod War patrols had some provocative badges to wind up the Icelandic gunboats!! Also some are deployment specific. Penguins if in the South Atlantic and so on!!
The pic below shows HMS Rothesay, she has her crest on a radar director aft of the bridge. Centre vessel, HMS Bristol, Shows her crest on the 'funnel'. HMS Euryalus on the right has her crest on the bridge above the windows. The funnel is displaying a DTS, (Dartmouth Training Squadron) badge as the ships were all part of the squadron. (F15 was the senior vessel - size doesn't matter in the RN).

I found it depends if the ship has a particularly talented artist on the books when funnel art is involved.
