7 out of the 8 decals are on, helped massively by micro sol and set
Another change in tack, I was just going to plough on, add the decals and some weathering. However after watching several more builds I've decided to do a proper job and paint it. Nice hot day today so off to the garage and gave it a coat of undercoat. I'm now waiting for some paint so I can continue.
Mick updates are nice making progress I see.

Finally the weather improves enough for some spraying. The X Wing now has its top coat, I’ll leave it for a day before masking up for the grey/blue panels. I have also tried a new (to me) method of chipping using masking fluid and I don’t think it looks bad.
After some additional night shifts I managed to push this along as the Japanese GB is rapidly approaching. Decals on and now another clear coat applied ready for weathering

One battered resistance x-wing, I just need to put something on the base to make it look like a hangar floor.

Thanks very much gents. I know they're not everyone's cup of tea but they are beautifully engineered kits and you can do as much or as little as you like with them, I have a Y Wing kit currently on hold for my birthday next month which I'm really looking forward to trying
