That's certainly an option if the big motors pop the 40 amp fuses!! May be better than a rewiring job if each big motor needs separate fuse!!Running at half throttle suggests to me that you might gave been OK with the small motors and the big props.
CHEERS Garry yes i think i shall but just looked on ebay for them metal U/J wot a chap shew me up the pond today an yes there is a problem now showin on them an the prob is that on my prop shaft i have a thread to fit to the U/J but on them metal U/J THEY ARE JUST held on the prop shaft with allen screws an i dont want to have to damage the screw thread on my prop shafts so from what i see they are no good Arrrrccchhh probs shown straight away OH GAWD an yes neil said he will email me when he post the vid on utube but dont know when as he is a busy man the depety dowg of Norwich boat club an we both hope you are feelin better ?Well Chris, I would take that as a win. She looks great and it would seem that most of your issues have been resolved.
Looking forward to seeing the vid in due course.

YES Doug an Ian i see what you guys mean but how much thrust them props made in the water i just dont know if them smaller motors will be up to the job an i will have to make another 4 motor mountings to fit in her which is not easy as remember alter something an the knock on effect comes into play an if them smaller motors get very hot tryin to turn them big props an they burn out then im back to fittin in them big motors what ive already got in so i think i will try an open up the T/X an see if i can fit in a ratchet control so i will only open them motors to half throttle an then i hope i wont blow them fuses guys hows that you guys ?That's certainly an option if the big motors pop the 40 amp fuses!! May be better than a rewiring job if each big motor needs separate fuse!!
Gotta keep your options open and on the table as they say Chris.
But all in all dude - a success. Thats the main thing.
HI Ian im usein a carsons R/C T/X an yes it says in the instruckition booklet that it has dual rates but one problem im not good on understanding instructions as i forget qiuckly what ive read so to set it at 50 to 60 % i cant do but my mate richard will come over soon an he is good on things like that BUT MANY THANKS Ian for reminding me on that as i have had this R/C for 2yrs now but never thought about settin that YOU COULD BE ONTO SOMETHING THERE WHAT WILL HELP GREATLYWhich RC unit are you using? I remember years ago they used to make metal U/J's, I suppose like everything else they went nylon/plastic for cheapness.
AN YES mike thats the way but they still do them metal ones but no good to me as they have a allen scrub screw fitted in them to attache to the prop shaft but mu shafts have a thread on so no goI remember years ago they used to make metal U/J's, I suppose like everything else they went nylon/plastic for cheapness.
HI Andy now the motors drive shafts are smooth an no thread an the U/J just slides on an does up with a small allen scrub screw an really i should have ground a little bit off flat on the motor shaft but so far they are not slippin an where the thread is on the prop shafts as thats the reason i cant use metal U/JLooks great on the water Chris and you must be pleased with the result even allowing for the propshaft problem. With regard to the propshafts, do the motors have threaded drive shafts? If not perhaps it may be possible to thread the shafts and the joints so that they screw together and are held with nuts. I may be talking out my **** here but it is just a thought.
Andy.
