Hi chris

the photos of her are great, she looks superb. i'm sure you must get a lot of appreciative comments when you sail her.

Peter
HI Peter yes there are a lot of people come an have a look an talk about the model an they say where can i buy one an i say you cant as they dont sell big models like this in the model shops as they have to be made from a moddler like me an that sort of knocks the wind out of the public's sails but they all seem to like her as the last sortie she was on only lasted 5 mins before she threw a prop shaft due maybe to how powerfull them new big motors are so at the moment im waiting for a new big 775 motor an ive fitted in a new universal jiont so until new motor comes she is u/s in dockyard
cheers pete for stoppin

Which RC unit are you using? Is it possible to adjust the throttle to duel rate and have it set to 50% - 60%
HI Ian a carsons 14 channell T/X yes been lookin through my T/X instruckions booklet an yes i can reduce the power downward to about 70 % full power usein them duel rates but just got to hope it works on seperate channells an not all AS do some funktions may not work so will have a test when my new motor comes an fitted in her
cheers chrisb

Normally if you can set duel rate on a unit it is on one ch at a time. It is mostly used in aircraft models but it comes in handy for most others too.

Should get looser after running in…..but thirty minutes is quite short.
For my railway engines I used to run motors in for about twelve hours in each direction at around 25% speed/power. I would only go to full speed and power once I had done this.
Might sound silly, but does it need lubrication? Some motors used to have a felt pad on one bearing that needed a drop or two of machine oil.

Thanks for asking Chris, I'm pretty much back to my old self now, but the strangest thing is that my eyesight has suddenly changed, where I didn't need specs for driving I now do. Closeup is still pretty poor.
C'est la vie hey mate.
Cheers

HI GUYS well im still tryin to sort my probs out on my tiger to begin regards that bad motor well its wasnt a bad motor as i found out after a lot of hassle someone on mayhem said release the motor mounting screws as he said sometimethe manufactuer makes them a shay to long an so i did an yes that was the trouble the mountin bolt must have been about a mm to long an it was hittin agaist the spinning armercher in the motor so fitted in new fixin bolt an the motor runs ok foeward an back an was goin to fit it back in the ship

but out of the blue the new motor has turned up by postie so ive fitted that in an it runs great so i thought ok thats that prob sorted but NO as i have been running the motors ive now found out why that universal jiont broke
an i now think there is a problem in the prop shaft as when running the motors the brass couplin that is screwed ontothe prop shaft was gettin very hot an i think thats why the U/J FAILED as it got hot an weakened the plastic U/J AN THEN THE PINS JUST PULLED THROUGH the mountings an it failed
SO why the prop shaft well it may be the bearing have broke up or the prop shaft grease has gone dry an hard in the tube an not lubicatein the prop shaft so i may have to remove said shaft an sqirt in some new grease to lubricate the shaft an stop it gettin hot as none of the othe 3 prop shaft get hot so if greasin the shaft fails then i may have to withdraw the shaft if i can an fit in a new one OH DEAR but onward an up

Chris,
Good to hear you are getting the problems identified and sorted.

Still some issues Chris but they are straightforward so I'm sure they will be easy to fix. Fingers crossed for you.
