Spots on the Internet (2023)

Ho-Hum! another Tigger.... One day I must build the Dragon one that is sitting at the bottom of my stash holding all the others up... BUT!!!! this one comes with its own bits of cloth.... and a plastic log or two...
Sorry to be facetious, but really, has this cow not been milked enough.
It's a very Asian thing being brand conscious. Like haven't you got the latest by so and so? They'll have a drawer full of branded watches and still buy another if their favorite brand does a new face-lift on one of their pieces. :rolling:

Cheers,
Wabble

True. But the thing is, there’s already a near-literal boatload of Tiger kits out there, yet manufacturers seem to think the only way to count as a serious one, is to release another. It’s, as far as many modellers are concerned, a case of yawn, one more …

It's the same with Bismarck and Yamato. They sell and no doubt makes money for the companies. So hopefully they can build more different models?

They are just catering to the market. Whilst it can be (obviously to you) annoying. It's just money making to them

If selling the tigers enables them to finance and produce a couple of more unusual kits, where’s the harm? All kit makers produce them because all kit makers know they sell. I haven’t built a tiger kit for about forty five years, but then I haven’t built a Sherman for the same length of time. Doesn’t worry me if they make em though, they then might make something I want!

Miniart are at it again, they kicked the backside out of 35th Stugs so what now...?!
Really? Just wow!
Someone is scraping the bottom of the barrel!

All looks very nice doesn't it ,72nd could do with a decent stug a lot of suspect details in the con sorry cad drawings but if it really is that good why on earth have they gone to all that trouble then make the biggest mistake that all the big manufacturers who release 72nd stuff make , yep they produce a really good top notch model and reduce it to a kiddies toy my fave pet hate moulded on tools surprised they didn't do the tow cables as well like a lot of them do. Price will be intresting the cost now of some of the 72nd kits is moving in to the 35th range its not for me but it will be intresting to see the real thing when it hits the street just imagine showing yourcompleted one to your friends passing them a magnifying glass and saying check out the road wheels you can read the manufacturers logo.

It doesn’t annoy me, it’s more one of those things that makes me wonder why. Yes, they do it to sell more kits — but given the very large number of Tiger kits there already are, the other thing I wonder about is who they think their market is for these kits. Because they must see a market for them, else they wouldn’t bother producing them. But at some point, any market will be saturated and entering it will los you money. Clearly, Takom doesn’t think that point has been reached, though.

That’s Me 410 is one I might just get. I built the Matchbox 210 looooong ago, always thought it looked really good with those remote-controlled machine guns, and have been thinking on and off of building another. The 410 essentially being a 210 “version 1.1” makes this a good candidate …
