Hi all,
A slight difference to my normal car builds.
A demanding and complex build with 150 parts alone in the rolling chassis - excluding wheels and tyres which are dry fitted. The detail levels are sky high and, so far, no real fitment issues.
Given the chassis and mechanical parts are very light weathering as it will be finished as a show truck with a 4 shade flip pearl paint job ( hopefully ).1000019503.jpg1000019502.jpg1000019501.jpg1000019500.jpg1000019499.jpg1000019498.jpg

Which colour are you going for? one of the included schemes of custom.

Ian I am going for S.M.S. Abyss colour shift extreme bought from the shop. Shifts from deep purple to blue to orange to gold over a black base.
Although there are a lot of flat panels there are quite a few curves and numerous body swage lines to catch the shifts. Already painted the black and just flatting down now to accept the colour. After decalling will be using 2k clear from Proscale paints.
Hopefully will be enough left to do the same finish on a curvaceous Cobra in the stash.

Will post piccies in black base but it's all in seperate pieces as you cannot pre build the cab and put over the interior - believe me I have tried every which way!

Great work on the chassis so can't wait to see the colour shift, I did one on a truck build

Hi all,
An update on this build. I did try to get a picture of the body panels in black base coat but was unable to get a decent image.
After 3 coats of S.M.S. Abyss colour shift paint, affixing some tricky chrome decals I applied 2 coats of Proscale paints 2k clear. Not all together happy with the finish so have just bought a H&S Ultra 2024 for my next build. Still have to flat and polish. Hopefully the different colours show in the images.
The cab interior is dry fitted and 50% complete - decided on an unusual scheme.
Comments and criticism welcome.1000019788.jpg1000019789.jpg1000019791.jpg1000019787.jpg1000019786.jpg

The out side of the cab looks very nice....not sure about the inside though. I'd need me raybans for in there. Lol

I decided that if I am going to do a show off truck I will go with the purple/grey interior as, belive it or not, that combination was a bespoke option on several German marques (in the 80s). Raybans were very popular in the 80s as well!
