My reason for this was again nostalgic
As a young kid in Cyprus we saw these in the UN colours all over the place around 1970 give or take.1000006578.jpg

Very nice Colin :thumb2:,
I hope you manage to finish it!!;):tears-of-joy:

My name is Andrew.....I can't resist a bargain.....as you well know.......

As you may have seen from a post not that long ago, there is a certain seller that for some reason is able to get hold of Plastic Soldier Company wargaming kits and sell them at stupid prices and I mean stupid prices...

. Their normal starting point is usually just over 20% RRP including P&P but they offer discounts of up to 20% on top for multi-buys.

I wasn't very clever with my purchases and so I didn't maximise my discount opportunity fully but the below came in at anywhere from 16-45% below RRP delivered, depending on the kit (and most other sellers also charge P&P on top). Overall the combined discount came in at just over 1/3 of RRP......so all in all I was quite pleased!

And of course, what you have to remember is that each 'kit' contains at least three - if not more - individual models. The only exception is the Churchill one, which 'only' contains two models.

ACW as usual.

Andrew

PS as you can see, a couple came without boxes or instructions given the level of discount I can live with that, plus the instructions can be found online.

Those figures are a tad modern to be putting into a Ferret, though. Or at least, I assume that’s the intention :)

Yes the camo is all wrong, but I got a pic of a group stood from about that time, and they were all in overalls and a UN beret.
Those figures helmets don't have to go on, so I'm hoping I can bash berets for them.
And painting the overalls in the colour of the guys in the pic from that time , hopefully that will work. 1000006566.jpg

They look like black tankie overalls - too dark for OG overalls and some appear to be wearing blackened '37 pattern belts, they can't shape a beret (and the hair is too long by half!) - and what's more they're scruffy to boot!

Just got this off evilbay. Seller offered a decent price. Will go nicely for my Ardennes Dio

Using my vouchers on a discount doubling weekend...................
saunders.jpgGot it for <£21 - didn't realise it came with masks and 3D printed decals for the cockpit

I know now why it is cheaper to buy on line. I am fortunate enough to have a local model shop that I like to support. However on the last 3 occasions that I have visited it to buy some paint etc I have ended up walking out with yet another model. Todays purchase from the bargain bin this gorgeous Revell 1/32 Spitfire Mk.1Xc. Box has never been opened. Note to self. When visiting model shop leave bank card at home.

Scratch building supplies, mostly from John:

I'm running low on certain strips & rods so had a stock up and there's some mesh as I can never seem to find a suitable size.

The T ruler should help me to cut things square for a change, and also make my own strips in the future.

And some scribing tape. I've tried everything from masking to Dymo tape but cannot get on with any of them. A roll like this should last a lifetime so cheap in the long run.

Was the ruler from John?
