Happiness is a triple fried egg sandwich with chilli sauce and chutney....

Okay, so only a double egg after this morning's model shop run (I'm on a diet apparently), and in a bun, but still with the required sweet chilli sauce on the top , mango chutney on the bottom, salt and pepper and a large cup of tea.

Very enjoyable. :thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2:

So then - what food makes you Gents happy?

Curry, in pretty much all of its forms. Close second is a good sausage butty with red sauce.

Baking bread. I bake all the bread we eat. I am a member of a bread making club and each month we bake something, over the years we have been around the world in bread. Mind you I doubt a sour dough baguette, some good cheddar and a cold one can be bettered.

Replace the beer with a good flat cider and I’m in Jim :thumb2:

Now I’ve seen that no what’s for dinner tonight, it’s going to be rubbish. I’m salivating. Can’t the mods ban that image - it’s doing me no good.
Right, it’s the weekend. Fuel the car and head West to Oggie Land!!!

ME AN JEN cod an chips an a savory spring roll an a staek pie an egg an bacon flan with jens special brand of mash an peas an snorkers cant beat them

LM Tiger Prawns & Piri-Piri Sauce. Lourenco Marques ( LM ). now Maputo, in Mozambique was famous for the seafood, especially prawns. I was introduced to this in a restaurant in Durban, South Africa when I was 20. Every time I visited Durban, I would dine on this ambrosia. I've had similar imitations, but nothing compared to the original. The dessert was a pineapple, hollowed out & filled with fresh fruit cocktail laced with liqueur - happy memories!

Me too Jim! Okay I bought the rolls today but we usually make all our bread, including sourdough and the gluten free stuff my daughter eats. So much better than shop bought stuff.

I'm with you - cheese, homemade bread, glass or two of wine - meal of the gods.

Hmm I can see this thread being long.
A nice bit of cheese and some Branston pickle on fresh bread. (anything on fresh bread tastes better).
A good sandwich with some good ham and a good salad with Hellmans mayonaise.
Roast chicken.
And must not forget Bacon. As in from a pig. Even better between the fresh bread with some strong English Cheddar and a fried egg.
I want my breakfast!

Bloody janners! Lol

Can't beat a cheesy hammy eggy... bloody matelots!
Even a decent Chinese!
As for a liquid lunch, has to be ale like Razorback or Tribute... or a brandy and coke!

Bubble & squeak or proper Stovies. Good old stodge food.

Proper full English fry-up as well. I love having one on a sunday after a long week on the farm

As a one-off meal.....................I'm not a fan of Tuna, but whilst we were at anchor off East Africa ( maybe Kenya ), fishing was a common pastime. The second mate hooked a 1.5m Yellowfin Tuna - there was a hell of a struggle getting it on board, which involved lowering the gangway, and using an improvised gaff...........
The cook was amongst the onlookers ( he was a Christian Indian ) & when asked how he'd cook it - said biggest frying pan - loads of butter - the Tuna cut into 20mm thick steaks ( about the size of two hands put together ), and gently sauted.
From racing around under the sea to dinner plate in under an hour - it was superb - we had it with New Potatoes ( tinned ) and Garden Peas ( also tinned ), with a garlic butter sauce. A simple meal, all the better for not being on the daily menu!
Dave
ps we did catch other things, including an angry 2m+ Moray Eel, which is another story.............

God I haven't had tinned new potatoes and tinned garden peas since the 90s.

HITS - Herrings in tomato sauce! (Snack)
Baby’s Heads!! - steak and kidney pud!
Sh1t on a raft!! - devilled kidneys
To name but a few.
Well it just gave us something to do renaming the chefs concoctions!!
:rolling::cool::tears-of-joy::tears-of-joy::tears-of-joy:

when at sea we regularly had swordfish steaks ! sometimes twice a week depending on the deal we got.
