Thank you Andreas. I'd like to think so and a big ette as well.Is this art? It will definitely be an incredibly cool vignette!
It's nice to have an outside comment and thank your good wife for me.Even my wife thought this looked amazing and she has very little interest in models. :thumb2:
Thanks Greg, the pigeons are giving me a headache because they will cover most of the stuff I've painted.Excellent...it really looks super and the details of the equipment qre stunning

Then don't use all of them. Just as many as look good. Thanks Greg, the pigeons are giving me a headache because they will cover most of the stuff I've painted.
Thanks Arnold...me too.Really looking forward to seeing it with the Pigeons - it all looks excellent.
Yes and I will have to pick and choose the best ones Andreas. You're right, he looks murdered with position of the bayonet in the angle. Thank you for the lovely comments. Then don't use all of them. Just as many as look good.
The angle of the first photo is disturbing. Your GI looks like he was murdered. :tears-of-joy:
I'm excited to see what it looks like when the first (wonderfully painted!) pigeons populate the scene.
I think this is currently one of my favorite projects here in the forum. You really manage to put together a lot of good components to create a very good overall picture.
You need a special feeling and an eye for it - and to be honest, I don't have the creativity for it myself. That's why I always admire things like this in other model makers.
You don't know how anxious I am for the pigeons to be placed, Jim.A very unusual dio/vignette beautifully put together and painted. When the pigeons are in place a real stunner.
Will do Ian as all the pigeons painting is complete. They plus the Garand were sprayed with Matt varnish. The jigsaw puzzle is finally coming together. Am adding dried leaves...they have to be the same as the ones behind the fence so I'll need to pluck from the remnants that I have in the packet. That looks amazing already Richard, even without the pigeons. Looking forward to more updates.
This is great, thanks Greg.Left arm with unit pacth (in this case tank destroyer unit) and ranks ( here technical sgt aka platoon sgt) on both sleeves
There was a song about the old Street lamp lighter. Thanks for sharing that pic.A lot of uk houses, streets, and things like railway stations (especially in more rural areas) were still gas or oil lit until the fifties Richard. Don’t know about the continent, but can’t see why it would be different. Apparently there are still about 1500 used in London…….all royal parks, buck house, and large areas of Westminster have them.
They looked like this…..
This is from Sweden in 1953, but I would think they are all pretty similar.
Yes it does never notice till you mentioned it. Optical illusion got him on that pic for sure. The angle of the first photo is disturbing. Your GI looks like he was murdered.
Thanks Lee, will do.Yes it does never notice till you mentioned it. Optical illusion got him on that pic for sure.
Wabble it all looks outstanding as your work always does. Keep the updates coming.
Paul, the GI shared a portion of his bread thinking he wouldn't be bothered but these French pigeons are civilised so they were quite orderly.I'm guessing pigeon placement is going to be critical. I'd've thought they'd all be scrambling to get at the bread, almost on top of each other, some just fractionally airborne - a solid mass of feathers and crumbs.
Good luck!

Thanks Tim, mind you the simpler it is the more complex and details tend to creep in. Not many distractions for the eye to wonder.Absolute genius. So simple yet so much to look at. Superb :thumb2:
