No build thread for this one but it turned out well so thought I would share.
ALL the paint is good old Humbrol Enamels, new made in England ones, not the junk they had made in India. Act react and even smell like the good stuff from the old days.
The Kit went together very well and the detail very good. The only iffy bit was the decals. EXTREMELY thin and liked to fold in on themselves. Only lost one, the Bedford badge on the grill.

I was quite pleased with the paint works nice glossy finish. Not upto the standard of some of the car/truck builders on here but pretty good for me. lol
Oh! Oh My! How trucks have grown since then. I could drive the Bedford on an ordinary car licence. (upto 3.5 ton in DK).

I liked this one so much I bought the Short wheelbase tipper as well....

Comments welcome as always.

That is a beauty Boss!!! The white paint must have been tough to spray, but the glossy finish is really nice and smooth. Looks good on the shelf between the big boys too!!!

Love that!

I've been looking for a modern recovery truck for myself but that's much cooler.

Well done Ian. I like the other trucks on the shelf too you going have to post a pic of all of them together as a group some day

I think I might be tempted If I found one as well. If only Meng could figure out to do some of their trucks in 1/24. I'd have that series II 88 as quick as.
I've been after Mini Art as well, I even suggested it to them and got a teasingly positive reply. along the lines of "Oh! That is a good idea!"

Morning Ian, love the whole thing, a well deserved

Congratulations.
I would like to thank the committee... it means a lot.

That a great result Ian.

Same with cars. I found some old photos the other day and one showed my first car - a white Hillman Imp. That was tiny.
I was a lot smaller then as well, Still tall, just not as wide. An Original Mini would be the death of me now trying to get in and out. Easier to park though. Parking spaces have not changed in 50 years!

That is truly excellent.
Coming from the car builder that does high gloss in his sleep I am honored! Thank you.
Brilliant result there Ian, well done Sir.
Thanks Garry. most kind
One to treasure. Very well done.
Thanks. It might even be allowed in the living room! (gasp).

Thanks Lee. There are builds of the Merc and the Bull-nose Scania in here (and builds I think). I will do a family picture at some point in time. i.e. when I have room lol.
Got a couple of GB builds to knock out, but already planning the colours for the next Bedford. Or I might do a modern truck...

Bull-nose Scania
I’ll be looking for it. That’s cool you call those Scania’s Bullnose here in the states in the 50s they called these Kenworth’s Bullnose. Here’s a pic of a older gentleman friend of mine truck he had in the 1960s-90s it’s a very interesting story about him and his dad that trucked together all those years they had twin Rigs painted the same he drove truck #4 his Dad drove truck #1 he lived about 30 minutes from where I live until he past away. I would talk to him for hours about trucks. AD716DB9-B46B-4B33-9BF7-21D51A3502E8.jpeg

I like that.... nice to see something different

Is it pre or post war?..........why the modern orange light on the crane arm?

I could see that in a nice do with a suitable car behind

I think it originates from the 1940's but where used, so I read, into the early 60's. Never really gave the warning light much thought. I don't even know when they became a thing actually.

A well deserved 'dogs' Ian. That looks just perfect.
Thanks Doug

Didn't know that. Most often they get called T-cab (short for torpedo cab. Don't ask I have no idea). Some call them Bull nose others bonneted...

What a beautiful truck! I love those old round hoods - and you did a great job on it. :thumb2:

Fantastic result on that Ian. The finish is superb. Never built a truck myself, but if a company did a series of forties or fifties trucks I’d be very tempted. They had much more character then.
