Ian M's Lancia Stratos HL. Hasegawa, 1/24

The new 2K clear got a try. Tomorrow we find out if I got the 2:1 ratio right. I saw two videos about this product both just say 2:1 then add thinners...Hmm
I found a new pair of eyes and read the label on the bottles. 1x hardener 2x lacquer So hopefully all should be well.
That sounds good to me.

It's one thing that niggles me about this hobby. People will say "I thin my paint 2:1" when they mean 2 thinner to 1 paint.

I my world that would be 1:2, as the industry standard is for the main product to always comes first, avoiding confusion. Then any additives like hardener and then thinner come after.

It shouldn't bug me, but it does :smiling5:

IMHO it always pays to be clear about things like this: “I thinned it 2:1 water to paint”, for example. If there’s a standard you can expect people to know about, like in your case, then just sticking to that will avoid confusion, but when you’re dealing with people who may not know, better to say too much than not enough.

Know what you mean. I get this itch when people talk about a “Sherman Firefly” or an “Achilles Mk. II” :)

Oh The 2K clear went quite well. A bit of a dust issue (forgot to de-fuzz the spray booth after a new filter so a shed load of :poop: laying on the bottom. A quick rub and polish and a full body decal job and no one will ever Know.
PS head ache due to the decals not the 2K.

All those decals must have been a bit of a nightmare. But there you go, all done now. Breath.

Great work with the decals Ian, definitely a cup of tea and a lay down after that.
