    Hot rod Iwatta airbrush

Never had an issue pulling paint back into the body myself. I just run a cup full of cleaner through the brush before I strip it down and that seems to take off the residue. I rarely use acrylics though, so perhaps this is more an issue with them.

    Hot rod Iwatta airbrush

Obstructed vision is why I like side feed brushes…..the cup is not in the line of sight…lthose top feed brushes with the paint cavity in the body are only good for detail work I would think. Capacity volume is around 1ml, so good luck spraying a 1/32 Lancaster with that 😁

    Warning re Polishing Compounds.

I’ve used the Tamiya stuff on both painted and clear surfaces. Only ever hand rubbed it. Secret is to ensure the paint has gassed off properly so it’s hard right through the paint layer before you start (I give it a week) and then to work through the grades coarse to fine, cleaning down...

Mercedes 170V delivery van, Heller, 1/24 scale

Lovely looking vehicle with a really nice colour scheme. Shame about the dust issue, but it’s probably not as obvious in the flesh.

    Weathering Misnomer

I think of weathering as a catch all term for what happens to an object as its existence continues…not just what the weather does to something. In effect, its the bit that adds character….timeworn would probably also work, but weathering is concise and easily understood…

    How be!

About half way between where I am now and where I used to be then LOL….nice part of the world though. I’ve got a mate that metal detects just up the road at Whylye…..

    How be!

Possibly Warminster/Westbury area then….. I was born and lived in Salisbury until I retired a few years ago. Now reside just over the border in Somerset, near Bruton.

    Pantile Roof Tiles

Wills scenic sheets are good, but probably too small for you. Avoid the slaters sheets, they are very 2D in appearance. O scale is 1/43, so might be a little large for you, but Continental O is 1/48, so perhaps try one of the Continental manufacturers like Faller or Kibri. There is a lot out...

    New hobby started

Sorry to hear that Peej. Been there myself back in 2015. Talking definitely helps, as does getting out in the air. I took up birdwatching for a while and found that very relaxing. Hope it improves for you 👍

    Migs Group Build

If it’s August to October I should be recovering from a hip replacement operation, so should have time for this, and will hopefully have some mojo. I’ve got an Eduard Mig 21 in the stash, so count me in then 👍

    Winter

To be honest bud, we called it a heatwave, but you would probably just call it summer 😂.

    Winter

In the hot summer of ‘76 I remember the school letting us not wear blazers for the last two weeks of the school year, and even letting us off wearing ties for the last week…hedonism run wild 😂

    Winter

Remember it in 1977 as a sixteen year old. Didn’t like it much as I had to walk three miles to school, and then got sent home again…..

    I think I've become a collector

Part of it is having too much time……at least, in my case. When I worked, I always did some, every day. It was part of my evening routine. Now I’ve retired (actually six years ago now) I find procrastination rules, rather than getting things done. I’ve always worked better to deadlines, and...
