    Making aerials from sprues...

Whilst on the subject: If you have liquid hand soap in a pump dispenser, the little tube that sucks the liquid from the bottom of the bottle is PE (polyethylene) plastic. this also can be stretched. It does melt very quickly, i suggest you hold it NEXT TO the flame, not over it, but it makes...

    AK Real Colours.

I found out today that when you shake these, the lids fill with paint and when you take the lid off, you get a hand full of paint. Avoiding these like the plague.

    Pin stripes

I have seen some great detailing work done with cricut vinyls. They are VERY thin and the permanent stick like the proverbial to a blanket. Those I have seen have been in the lager scales but are ok. I have seen thicker decals. 😂

    Making aerials from sprues...

I must be the odd one here. I use a lighter, I hold the sprue in one hand and twist it as I heat it. When it sags/bends I just put the lighter down and GENTLY stretch the sprue. If it is to hot you will get hair thin threads, to cold and it just snaps. Also worth looking for are the plastic ID...

    AK Real Colours.

Hm, Here in little Denmark people are more disappointed that they have gone over to plastic squirte bottles and not in glass jars anymore. I have used Vallejo for a good few years, so I am well aware that the odd nozzle splits from time to time. (I save and clean the used up ones as...

    AK Real Colours.

I was migrating away From Vallejo for this exact reason. Nozzles that split, get clogged, splutter a squirt everywhere (oh er misses). I have even had one or two that have ejected the whole nozzle and delivered the whole content of an almost full bottle in my lap. Found the AK lacquer paints in...

    AK Real Colours.

OK A while ago I bought some AK Real colors Lacquer paints. I quite liked them. Easy to use, Nice squat clear, GLASS JAR packaging. Nice easy grip/open tops. Easy to see the colour. Easy to use. I ordered some more the other day as there were a few colours I needed. What the heck? They have...

    revell bmw z1

Its not that bad. Where did you get those rather nice wheels... Revell are not that bad a brand. OK not a Tamiya shake and bake kit but normally they are fine with a bit of patience.

Tamiya Extra Thin, whats the difference?

Call me old fashion if you like but I have not bought Tamiya extra thin for a couple of years or four....However I have bought quite a bit of Tamiya Airbrush cleaner... Have a read of the labels if you have both...There is 1% difference in the two components. Japanese laws prevent the same...

Tirpitz with this and that, slow return for me

I think you are doing a great job with the PE. I find it fiddly in 1/35 or 1/48 but at the 1/350 scale! Good on you sir. Your last photo is AWAL I am afraid.

    Airfix - Alvis Stalwart

That looks very nice. I find that a lot of reviews on t'interweb are oftest to be took with a pinch of salt. I have seen some really fantastic reviews of kits to find them to be a right pig to build. Films! If the reviews say its a terrible film its usually a real good film. I digress. An...

Airfix HMS Fearless - deck colour?

    Bismarck. Trumpeter 1/200.

@John @BattleshipBob Despite my best attempts to get the photos inserted in this build thread so they can be seen, my efforts have been thwarted by the software that thinks it knows better than me. Just out of interest, can you all see the big pictures or only the postage stamp size ones?
