    Iwo Jima 1-32 Scale

As those who have seen my Flamethrower thread will know I have 3 sets of 1-32 scale Airfix Multipose US Marines in my stash which I want to use up, and this is their destination. I conceived this a while ago when I found the above pic and I have been assembling reference material, with a view to...

    Neil's 1-32 scale 3D printed Flamethrower

I've been unable to resist making an operator for the flamethrower. I've used one of the reject sets for this. And I've used the 3D printed boot soles as all the figures in the dio will be lying down. Any guesses? As a taster, here are the options for the leg positions So there's more...

    Neil's 1-32 scale 3D printed Flamethrower

Second attempt crashed & burned yesterday, except for the tanks, which is just as well because they got worse on the third attempt, even though everything else was improved-even the vertically oriented packboard, which WAS a surprise. So I do have a usable full set, and a reserve of...

    Neil's 1-32 scale 3D printed Flamethrower

Well, it printed- some of it great, some not so great and I don't really know why. The tanks developed a 'middle-age spread' for some reason but I'm pleased with the finer details. The different sized frames are difficult to tell apart, so I can use the thinnest one (second from right) -...

    Neil's 1-32 scale 3D printed Flamethrower

I've set up the printer (resin, Elegoo Mars 2 ,for those who care about these things) and this is what it looks like virtually I'm also printing some packboards and Marine style boot soles as most of them will be lying down(can you guess where I'm going with this?) So here goes, we'll see how...

    Neil's 1-32 scale 3D printed Flamethrower

I first posted this in What's On The Bench, but I think it might expand a bit, so here's a full thread. I got a bit 'Fusiliered Out' so I started building this digitally for a diorama I'm planning, using up my stash of Airfix Multipose US Marines. Of course nobody does any accessories in 1-32...

    What's on the Bench 2023

I'm a bit 'Fusiliered out' at the moment so I'm distracting myself at the 'virtual bench' by creating this It's an M2 Flamethrower to be 3D printed . I've got almost three complete sets of Airfix Multipose US Marines in the stash that I want to use up in a dio, so I want a flamethrower in...

Airfix 54mm Napoleonic French Line Infantry

Not to lower the tone too much, but here's the evidence Photos for reference only I accept I MAY have exaggerated things a little... But then I do have form, I suppose- some of you may remember the horses and the 'Flying Scotsman' in the Scots Greys Charge diorama?

Airfix 54mm Napoleonic French Line Infantry

I have to admit that I've been holding out on you all a bit, because whilst working on Fusiliers 9 & 10 ,(and in order to avoid doing any painting) I had a moment of madness and made Fusilier 11, And Fusiler 12, Fusilier 13, Fusilier 14, And finally…Fusilier 15! I decided to make...

Airfix 54mm Napoleonic French Line Infantry

I'm conscious that I've been a bit quiet on this thread lately- lots of real life going on. I've struggled with the painting Mojo recently but this one is ready for a matt coat and assembly. Fusilier 8 is not far behind so I will wait till he's ready before I fire up the hissy stick Cheers...

Airfix 54mm Napoleonic French Line Infantry

And here's Fusilier 10,ready for paint- the equipment is still mostly separate, so it will settle down more naturally when I finally put it together I've just noticed that I need to add the gaiter straps under the new boot soles. I've 3D printed the shako and the musket, and the chinscales...

Airfix 54mm Napoleonic French Line Infantry

I haven’t really been able to knuckle down to painting the next two figures yet, but I have been able to avoid the DIY by working on the casualties, Fusiliers 9 & 10. This is where we left them; Fusilier 9 Fusilier 10 Fusilier 9 is ready for paint Fusilier 10 will probably be finished...

Airfix 54mm Napoleonic French Line Infantry

Well, he wasn't QUITE finished. The experts among you will have spotted that the standard lacked the gold fringe around the border, and somebody on Planet Figure pointed it out... :rolling: I knew it should be there but I wimped out in case I damaged the beautiful paintwork. But then I thought...

Airfix 54mm Napoleonic French Line Infantry

I am happy to announce that Deuxieme Porte Aigle is finished! Here are the bits painted and ready for assembly And here's the finished article. I must point out, for the benefit of those who haven't followed the thread from the beginning, that I didn't paint the standard myself. it was...

    corrugated sheets

If you have any self-adhesive silver foil tape like heating engineers use it might work well joined back to back. It made a good temporary flag for my Fusiliers

    Valerons ICM 1 35 Model T 1917 Ambulance

Is this of any use Mike? as for the tailboard tilting under the weight, it seems there are stops of some kind to prevent that happening They are possibly not the same model of ambulance, but I have a big collection of images gleaned from the internet for my future Model T conversion...

    Neil's 1/32 WWI Nurse

And she's finished. A lovely little project, beautifully sculpted by Benoit Couchies (my apologies, not Nino Pizzichemi as I stated earlier). I've thoroughly enjoyed stretching my painting skills a bit, ,so no bad thing. And much as the comparisons to Mike the Kiwi were flattering, I have...

    Neil's 1/32 WWI Nurse

I've made a quick little base for Fanny, using my own 3D printed base ,some coffee stirrers and some Vallejo putty. Here's a step by step, doesn't really require explanation -very straightforward stuff. The idea being it's the planked floor of a hospital tent. She should be all done in the...
