    Zvezda T90MS.

At a loose end waiting for delivery of pigments and washes to finish the Grad I dug this out from under the bench to have a better look. There are 12 sprues and one of clear parts. And there are a LOT of VERY small parts. Well, seeing as I have taken the spues out of the plastic bags and...

    BM-21 Grad.

All coming together nicely, time consuming fitting all the really small bits that will never be seen, but I know they are there. What you see in the picture above is not finaly assembled as it all comes apart for painting. Going to start on the cab tomorrow and see if I can get that together...

    BM-21 Grad.

I made a start on the chassis which is quite complex with a lot of parts, some of them are very small so best removed from the sprue and fixed to the model before sanding to reduce the risk of breakage. The engine is actually painted silver but does not show up against the grey chassis and it is...

    BM-21 Grad.

Another bit of armour arrived today, albeit the soft-skinned variety. A fair bit of plastic in the box, I think it said 457 parts. Nice tyres, although weighted resin ones would be better, and clear instructions with a couple of colour schemes to choose from but I am sure I have seen pictures...

    Tamiya 1.35 Panther.

Been doing a bit with the panther over the last day or so. Easy enough to put together but I am not happy with the paintwork, I reckon I need an intensive course to get my head around this airbrush stuff. The paint on the Scania I built came out fine, but it was just one main colour on flat...

    Italeri Scania R620 Topliner.

At long last I would call this done. Been an interesting return to plastic model kits and I have learned a thing or two, in fact, more that a thing or two. It is certainly not the best model to be shown on here, but onwards and upwards. A wee look in the drivers window. Last one My thanks...

    Which one?

I am looking to buy a 1/35 tank of some kind at or below the £20 mark so I can try to improve my mediocre painting skills, actually, mediocre is too strong a word for my painting. Looking at cheaper stuff so it does not matter if I make a hash of it. Any suitable kits come to mind from you...

    Which styrene for scratch building?

As the title, what do you guys reckon, Maquett or Evergreen? For my long term project I will have a bit, no, make that a lot of scratch building to do as I can not buy what I need in kit form, well I can but it's from the other side of the world and costs over £100 a shot plus postage and I need...

    Ford Ranger F150.

After hitting a small paint issue with the Scania and being at a loose end awaiting a delivery I just had to open the box. And when the box is open there is no point in putting it all back in, so..... I have since de-chromed the wheels, bumpers and mirrors just to keep busy but will be back...

    Chrome, off or on?

I have a 1.24 Ford pickup truck that I intend to practice weathering on, actually, it's still in the box. Question is, should I strip the chrome off the wheels, mirrors and grille and paint them silver or just try weathering over the chrome. Rookie question I know, but if you don't...

    Mixing scale models.

Just how much difference is there between 1.24 and 1.25 scale models. For example, how would a 1.25 trailer look if fitted to a 1.24 artic unit? Never having seen the two together I just wondered if it would really look that bad. Andy.

    Best masking tape.

I am sure this has been asked many times before, but what is the best masking tape to use where there are a couple of 90 degree curves to go around? I could possibly brush paint the parts instead of masking, but with my brush skills I think it would be best to mask the area. Andy.

    Which glue for transparencies?

As above, which glue is best for clear part like windscreens and windows. I am thinking of PVA, or perhaps clear silicone but is there something better or easier to use without the risk of smears or marks? Andy.

    Base coat for metallics.

I have had a search through the paint forums but not seen anything about what would be the best base coat/primer for acrylic metallic paint. Sorry to be a pain, but does anyone know if I need something other than basic primer? Andy.

    Italeri Scania R620 Topliner.

As this is my first plastic build for over 30 years this may take some time. After leaving the plastic behind I spent about 20 years building and flying RC model aircraft but since then I have been spending all my spare time on my motor bikes, but it's time to get modelling again. Just starting...
