Haha, thank you, but don't let my efforts put you off. There are some incredible bike builds on here and I thought I'd never be able to get close to that standard. The kit helped a lot. Since you have to paint everything before assembly it allows you to focus on one or two parts at a time.- Andy T

Thanks Tim. I really enjoyed the process so no doubt I'll build a few more. I'm sure there will come a point when they get a bit samey, so will have to add variety with other genres. I'd prefer off road bikes, but there doesn't seem to be as wide a variety of that style.- Andy T

Technically, most should be replaced after 40 hours of use or 30 days after opening, but again, probably OTT for the concentration we work at when airbrushing so a few months of irregular use should be fine. Always replace as soon as you are getting any smell through it, regardless of how much...- Andy T

To paint or not to paint
There used to be a guy post here (sorry, I can't remember his name) that specialised in that kind of "naked" build. It brings it's own challenges as you can't disguise anything with filler, primer, or paint. Even a slightly errant blob of glue can be spotted, so in ways could be more difficult...- Andy T

Well, they are the same filters I use if that helps 😂 If anything, slightly over specced with added protection from acids & ammonia, but the A1 rating is spot on. I add additional P3 filters like these...- Andy T

The short answer would be - I agree with Tim, an A1P3 would be perfectly adequate for airbrushing. The (much) longer answer - Filters come with several ratings ; A, B, E, K, & P. The ones that interest us are A (organic solvents & vapours) and P (particulate) These are further rated with...- Andy T

Excellent advice so far. One piece of equipment I'd add is a cleaning pot. Similar to this, but widely available all over: https://www.scalemodelshop.co.uk/airbrush-cleaning-pot/ You can blow out any traces of unused paint and your cleaning solutions, without spraying them around your room...- Andy T

Thanks for the brilliant comments guys. Neil - I've never owned a bike myself but did ride a couple of my brother's when I was younger. The bug just never bit. Steven - go for it! I really enjoyed this, apart from the obvious bit, which was hopefully a once in a lifetime issue!- Andy T

A bit of a quick one before the next GB starts. This was a free .stl file that I printed out, using about a fivers worth of resin. For my first bike build I'm happy with how this has turned out. It takes quite a different approach to other genres, but one that I really enjoyed. No doubt I'll be making more of these, I'm just praying for more luck with the decals next time 😂- Andy T
