    Kotare Spitfire Vb 1/32 scale

Correct. The other two is the Sky fuselage band painted along a slanted panel line, clearly because it’s easier than doing it vertically as all ‘paint shop’ production aircraft are done. The other is the black propeller back-plate as they clearly just removed the spinner to paint sky separately.

    Kotare Spitfire Vb 1/32 scale

My second of these superb Kotare Spitfires and it wont be my last. This is an early Mk V which has some interesting details having been repainted from the original Dark Earth scheme, painted in the field. Four things in particular stick out, see if you can spot them.

    A game changer…..

I am currently working on the Kotare Spitfire Vb. this is my second Kotare Spit and won’t be my last…. I am not doing a build thread on this one but have established the practicality of more uses of this jig. I just fitted the sub-assembly into the clamps without changing the configuration...

    Gloster Meteor FR9, Revell 1/32

208 Squadron,1955, Based in Cyprus 1955. This is depicted as she looked immediately before the Suez crisis. During Suez she had yellow and black id stripes added. I have never been a fan of Revell but this kit is a real turning point and if their new 1/32 Harrier is developed to this quality...

    A game changer…..

they do sell fast. I put my email into the system to be informed when back in stock. When I got the email I was straight on it. Phil’s has 3D printers working 24 hours a day to keep up with demand.

    A game changer…..

The Flory Modelling Jig…. This jig is perfect for larger aircraft and many other models of most scales. For my 1/32 aircraft it is now indispensable in the configuration pictured. Being able to set the aircraft firmly into a position to work on any part of a model makes life so much easier...

    Kotare 1/32 bf109K

They say that ‘all kits have their issues’, something I have always believed. But this kit bucks the rule, it’s probably the best designed and engineered kit i have ever experienced. I can find no criticism but if I really had to be picky I might turn to the moulded in aerial mast on the fin...

    Hanboost power tool

It’s better than the Dremel because it is much more convenient to use, small and light enough to sit on the bench, ready for use, just as you might a manual drill. It’s ideal for plastic and has more torque than the Wow stick I had before and loved, perhaps not quite as much as the Dremal Lite...

    ICM 1/32 Yak-9T

I have a lot to say about this one but, first of all I have to say that it is a nice little kit and I recommend it to anyone who wants this little Soviet fighter on their shelf. Fairly quickly after starting the build I felt as if this is more like a Special Hobby designed kit than an ICM. OK...

Top Notch paint masks - how to use?

Hi Rick Mostly yes the lighter shade first. For the white though try spraying the MRP white primer first as it covers better. (Likewise the sand primer for yellow.) Just take your time and make sure the edges are burnished down with a cocktail stick. I have not used Topnotch before but if...

    Hanboost power tool

As many of you know I am what I call a ‘tool whoor’ ( for some reason the site refused the actual spelling, hence spelt phoneticly). I do love trying out new tools and though I do have a great selection of power tools, a Wow stick powered drill, a Dremal and a David reciprocal sander I decided...

    So, what’s happened to Revell?

As many of you know I am not a fan of Revell at all. First I have to say, I am speaking only of their 1/32 aircraft so others may have different experiences. I have found that Revell have just two things in their favour, excellent decals and they are cheap. I have built a number of Revell...
