    That is a nuts amount of work to go into a teeny-tiny model! You must be very scared of the carpet monster; if any bits fall there, you've no chance of finding them again. On the plus side, a lot less painting than a 1/48 or worse...

    And as Tony said, you can paint it on your hand and then peel it off when dry - and that is so tempting to get some to do just that.

    Me too! Though I was younger and more interested in a quarter of black jacks and fruit salads than model kits, by the time I started modelling, we were living off bases, so just Woolies and WH Smith by then. We lived in Singapore too, but I was only 3-5 - I suspect Lego featured more.

    Good job Sir! I thought the same with my first AB too - the coats of paint are much thinner than a brush, not matter how much you think you have thinned it (for the brush) - I know I really ought to take WAY more care before AB. This has come out very nicely though.

    A few little splatters? Well done! The evidence of my first AB session is still on the ceiling! I think I over-tightened eveything, and the paint cup cap flew off, paint then hit the ceiling, Luckily, it was dark blue, so barely noticeable on a white ceiling :oops:

    Funny, I was thinking of the same analogy - a fine aircraft, eclipsed by later ones (Spitfire, and F5 / P47 / P51 respectively). As you say, clearly good enough to get that many aces.

    Good choice, the P40 is a nice aircraft, not the best, but given the number produced, it was certainly effective enough.
