That looks great Tony. It's fine as it is but it's a good idea to see if you can improve with the second one, learning from the first
Thanks neil , I think the left eye ( right as youre looking at it ) could do with a bit of touching up but I’m scared of messing it up so will probably leave it , hopefully the second one will be ok too .

Well Ive done the second head and touched up the first . If I may I would like the opinion of anyone watching as to which one to use , theres not a lot of difference but a fresh perspective is always welcome , cheers tonyIMG_7110.webp

Difficult - but I like the one on the right the most Tony, it has some extra color variation around the eyes. Hope you'll get some more usable feedback from other painters, have fun 🎨 , cheers

Thanks steven , appreciate the feedback . I was leaning towards that one too , the one on the left has a bit of a lazy eye ! Also I did the one on the right with darker hair and I think it looks a bit better .All good practice though , cheers tony

Yes the one on the right for me too
Thanks neil , thats a win for the darker haired one then ! Now Ive got the face sorted it should be a bit less difficult for me from now on . The trousers can now be highlighted a bit but I think I’m going to leave the shirt as it is - becuase its white I’m scared if I try and add some shading it will end up looking grey and mucky and I dont think someone as glamorous as Maureen would have been seen out in a dirty shirt !

One on the right Tony, I think you've achieved her eyes perfectly on that one, a more natural smiling look.
I agree.

I'd be very happy to have produced either but the one on the right looks more natural.
Thanks Joe , Andy , always good to get a second opinion . Very handy being supplied with two heads , good practice . What with this one and Arnie , I’m starting to lose the fear of figures ( more especially the faces ) so the SAS jeep might be moving up the ‘to do next ‘list !

Had a good session on this yesterday . I found great pictures of the Irvin parachute online so set about the painting . First it was all done khaki brown then all the straps were picked out with a buff colour . There are lots of different bits in slightly different colours so it took a lot of painting , retouching , more painting until I was happy with it . Then it had a light drybrushing with
a lighter brown to try and highlight the details. The trousers have also had a drybrush with a lighter blue grey . Ive now attached the head and arms and painted the flying helmet . Next is a bit of filling and retouching where the hand meets the head then its just about there . IMG_7140.webpIMG_7150.webpIMG_7152.webpIMG_7153.webpIMG_7154.webpIMG_7155.webp

Stunning work Tony. Despite your initial anxieties about this, I think you have shown, here and with Arnie, more than enough skill to create a lifelike figure.

The head on the right would have been my choice too, they are both good, way beyond what I would be able to achieve, having only done two 1:12 figures myself so far....but I just think the one on the right looks a tiny tad more lifelike/realistic, although TBH they both do, and as you say not a lot in it really. Cheers

Tony

The one on the right clearly won the day and this is because you have got her left eye spot on. The pupil and the eye liner are very nice. Overall you are on the way to a very nice figure.
Bravo

John
