I have not had as much time as usual for building or even to spen on the forum over the last month or two but I have still managed to build this little gem.

The Mig3 was designed as a high altitude fighter and early in the war they did manage some high altitude success but with most of the fighting on the Easter Front being at low altitude that is were these had most action, sad because at low altitude they were seriously outmatched.

The is a nice little kit. A much simpler build than most Trumpys, no engine and no 'wasted' detail. Fit was good though I did have to use a fair bit of filler around the wing fuselage join. The real challenge was in making the rather plain camo scheme interesting. Much of the aircraft, including most of the wings were made of wood (the outer sections), so no panel lines and on top of the wing not even any national insignia.

It was out of the box, much more so than normal, I did nothing at all extra to enhance the kit.

Hope you like it.

Really excellent stuff there Barry, you've done a great job on the shading to add depth to the monochrome paint scheme.

Cheers

That looks really nice Barry, and I agree with Patrick's comments above. I'm surprised how small it is too, even in 1/32.

Weathering and shading are spot on here ( I think you have created a nice looking aircraft here

Awesome

Very nice work Barry. The MiG-3 is a nice looking aeroplane, but I bet it was a pig to fly.

Great looking build Barry, excellent preshading! Very nicely done Sir!

Very nice job mate. Excellent. True about their heavy losses over the eastern front... they got shot down in huge numbers....

Very nice build Barry, great paintwork.

Not a model that I have seen knocking about but would be interested in doing.
