Dave fair cop, I stand corrected. Of course due to a typographical error of course:smiling:, it should have been IvanI didn't know that there was a Welsh colony in Russia! Ivor?
Dave
Thanks Paul. Tried to get a worn look on the boards where wheeled vehicles has crossed the bridge, so used that lighter colour.John,
The planking looks suitably aged you have achieved a nice finish.
:flushed::smiling3::smiling3:If there was, it'd be Ifor!

Jim, evening, yes they've set off to the local burger bar, it's a two for one tonight with free Vodka. Probably won't see them till Monday :smiling2:.Hi John
Excellent work on the bridge - Ivor and his team can have extra cabbage with their Yak burgers. Useful SBS on the reeds :thumb2:
Jim

Ha, nice photo, thanks Jim.:smiling:Great work John, but round these here parts we don't need no stinking bridge!
Yes indeed Paul, glad you approve .Only if you have a snorkel:smiling4:. Some super work Dzohn. PaulE
Think you right in that assumption Richard about over engineered kits, as Simon has said we asked for them and now the parts count is over the top and many parts are so small. Often numerous small parts to build up one small section that a few years ago would have been moulded in one .Hi John, just back in. I admire the tenacity you showed with that tractor.
Looks very challenging for comparison I just assembled an old Airfix tractor that comes with their Stirling bomber and that took me two hours straight OOB. When I was kid it probably would have taken five minutes.
Perhaps we have gone a bit serious with our building and application and with the introduction to overly engineered kits, it has become extra difficult. Sorry you had to go through one of these but it's turned out ok. The fact that it's going to rest in a ditch, the slightly crooked chassis and tracks might just look right.
Dio is looking the bisnizz bridge and all and glad you're starting to enjoy the process. :thumb2:
Am sorry to hear of your friends passing.
The last picture from Allen reminded me of the flood we had 13 years ago.
Cheers,
Richard
Thanks Simon.Great work on the bridge John :thumb2:
Si glad you like it, the weathering was done with some cheap acrylic artists paints. The black for the weathering,. ( Also used on brick work .) I put about a finger nail full into a small jamjar, add half a jar of water and shake ( Putting lid back on first I might add ) this will give a reasonable strength wash, too rich just add some more water, too weak squeeze some more paint in, and mix well .Morning John,
Excellent work weathering that timber on the bridge...I’m blown away:surprised:
Start of the bull rush look good too ....I’ll have to remember all this as I’m starting to plan a water scene myself, once my current dio is off the bench!
Keep it coming mate![]()

Thanks Paul, as for that dog it came from a German Panzer crew, the dog (hell hound :smiling2: it was shown jumping up a guy holding a rabbit !.Hi John,
Nice SBS on the reeds. More like a hell hound than a dog mate :tongue-out3:
I'm with Scottie on that one - that is like no dog I've ever seen!!
He has a few mould line issues as well John

Historex do these two that actually look doggy shaped :smiling5:
Thanks Steve, its about the only thing i'm good at.I am staggered by the quality of the dios on the forum at the moment. This is stunningly great work mate. The track marks on the bridge is fantastic attention to detail. Good luck with the reed bed and figures.

Hi Si.Evening Mr R,
The bulrushes turned out very nicely, I’ve made some notes :nerd: :thumb2:
Got to agree with the guys about the rather odd looking hound...did he have an incident with the microwave :smiling5:.
Joking aside...the figures are looking pretty good mate:thumb2:
