This is the last of the Japanese fighters for the big project so not long to wait

I'm moving along with the busa dry fit looks good

The office is very stark but it did have a decent IP another closed canopy build so it really is a non issue anyway

Going gear up with this one so I had to sand the mains so they fit in the wells

and now waiting for glue to dry

Nice begining Trey.

Can't wait to find out what you have in mind for all these Japanese fighters.

Tony.

Dave thanks, not sure yet still pondering a scheme, Tony thanks wo'nt be long and I'll spill the beans. In the meantime I've got the Busa filled sanded rescribed and ready for some paint. Still not sure on the scheme yet tho[^o)]

I sprayed the TS-30 Silverleaf ,going with a 2 tone mottle on the top and a NMF bottom

the top pic will be the scheme I'm after

Looking good Trey and i like the colour scheme your going for plenty of chipping for you to do

I like the other colour scheme.Though i dont think i would be able to do it with my limited airbrushing skills. With all these Otaki kits you've built i've noticed they all seem to suffer from bad fit of parts.especially at the wing roots. But still make nice models with the work you put into them.

Thanks Ian. Dave I liked the other one as well but already had 2 grey scale birds wanted one that would break it up a bit, will make more sense when the whole project comes together.NMF on the bottom using MM metalizers

after buffing and blending

Looking good trey! Very nice camo youve picked, although either of them would look great. cheers tony

I'm really looking forward to seeing the camo on this one. I have an Oscar to build in 1/72.

Thanks Tony and Alex I got the Busa painted and chipped up a bit ,gonna lay on some Klear and do the decals next

Thread owner
Thanks Vaughan!

The wheels were lacking detail so I scratched up some hubs

the decals are down and the wash dry almost ready for weathering

Thread owner
Weathering complete and the build would be as well had I not broke the canopy trying to buff out scratches! Got a replacement on the way hope it arrives soon

What a fantastic finish

How did you do the chipping Trey? Hairspray? Salt? It's extremely effective

Thread owner
Trey, you've got paint chipping down to an art, mate.

Another lovely Japanese bird rolls out of the hanger.

It'll be perfect when your new canopy's fitted.

Perfect paint job trey, absolutely faultless. Shame about the canopy, cheers tony

Another superb build Trey. You've inspired me to have a go at the salt chipping.Just been out and bought a Zero.

Hi Tray regarding the salt chipping what salt do you use will table salt work or is it the cracked sea salt
