The build was covered briefly here http://www.scale-models.co.uk/community/threads/1-72-airfix-de-havilland-vampire-t11-a02058.29379/ (in which WZ507 of the Vampire Preservation Group was modelled). A55204 is the starter set version of the kit. It comes with useless small pots of 'acrylics' and a few paint brushes.
Markings are for NZ5710 of No.14 SQN RNZAF, based at RNZAF Ohakea in 1970. That year the Douglas A-4K Skyhawk was introduced, replacing the Vampire/Venom and Canberra bomber in the strike role. The Vampire trainer was superseded in the advanced jet training role by the BAC Strikemaster Mk88. NZ5710 survives on display at the RNZAF Museum at Wigram, Christchurch, NZ.
