The build was covered briefly here http://www.scale-models.co.uk/community/threads/1-72-airfix-de-havilland-vampire-t11-a02058.29379/ (in which WZ507 of the Vampire Preservation Group was modelled). A55204 is the starter set version of the kit. It comes with useless small pots of 'acrylics' and a few paint brushes.

Markings are for NZ5710 of No.14 SQN RNZAF, based at RNZAF Ohakea in 1970. That year the Douglas A-4K Skyhawk was introduced, replacing the Vampire/Venom and Canberra bomber in the strike role. The Vampire trainer was superseded in the advanced jet training role by the BAC Strikemaster Mk88. NZ5710 survives on display at the RNZAF Museum at Wigram, Christchurch, NZ.

Great vamp joe , I built one of these a couple of years back and it's a great kit :)

Having just read ' The Shepherd ', this is a timely build as that story features the Vampire!

A great build of a beautiful aircraft Joe

You really have been busy with the modelling tools of late Joe! Another cracking model in 1/72. The Vampire looks great

Cheers

Paul

Very nice Joe, never knew why I never had a go at the Vampire and Meteor as they were based at Aberdeen, Dyce In the '50's. You might just have inspired my. Derek

Yes...go rnzaf. Does this kit come with these decals? I need one of these :)

That's really cool. I like jets from this era. Lovely work.

Hey Aaron. Yep, the starter set version comes with RNZAF markings. I got mine here, it is the cheapest one I could find: http://www.boathousecollectables.co.nz/products/discounted-models/item/de-havilland-vampire-t11-nz-decals-included-gift-set-172-special-was-34-50-786/

Awesome Joe...I think I've got this guy added on my payees list already. Lol

Very nice Joe. Classic old jet, nice new model.

Very clean build of a classic airframe Joe! Always did like these twin boom Jets and you've done it justice for sure! Very nicely done Sir!
