discussion 1. 72 scale scratchbuilt 21 cm k12 german railgun dio

Hi guys , been a long time since I posted, have been working full time on my latest 1. 72 scale scratch build, it is the largest I have built the length is 2 ft 3 inches and it took me seven weeks to draw scale plans ( using some taty and faded original plans off internet)  and build using modified bogies from two Leopold kits and a few other bits and bobs,the rest including gun barrel was scratch built ,then two weeks to paint and finish dio . I decided to build model jacked up ready for firing as it looks more impressive.


The full size gun was a monster at 139 ft over buffers and gun 109 ft long it was a box girder structure mounted on two subframes which were each  mounted on two double bogies.                    The gun had to be jacked up from the subframes by two  enormous hydrolic jacks each time to fire and then be lowered to load also lowered to travel.(will post pics of full size gun later also the model before lowered for travel).
