Looks about right for a rushed re spray. Think you captured the wear on the edges well.

Thought of you the other day when I read a report of the Japanese Modelling Show, some one has released a large armoured railway gun , that brought back some memories !

Thanks one and all - unfortunately I think I may have ruined it

I did a dark brown wash with water based WN oils, decided it wasn't dark enough around the details so did another layer with a very dark wash and I seem to have been a bit heavy handed and obliterated the actual paint finish - DOH! :disappointed2:

Will have to leave it for a few days anyway to dry out fully so will see if I can resurrect it later

Hi Simon,

Just saw this...if you have a protective layer on the base paint then immediately clean the wash with whatever solvent you used. Leaving the wash on may make it harder to remove it.

Hello Ian, Richard, Steve, John and anyone else that happens by

Couldn't clean the wash off due to the AK Worn Effects - as soon as I tried the paint started to lift

Left it all to dry out then got a flat brush and dry brushed it with a series of buff layers to lift the details back above the washed areas

I then went around all the green bits with a tiny 0000 brush and marked them in again and added a few more for good measure especially around the bits where I reckoned the crew would tend to climb most - front glacis and a couple of places on the turret to get to the hatches

Changed the rear fuel drum to green for a bit of variation

Tracks have had a base of VJ track primer

Not taken any pics yet but I think it can be considered rescued

May get a chance to do a little more and take some pics after work tonight........

Hi Simon just caught up with is one, I know I'm very late, amazing attention to detail as always, love all fuel tank plumbing :thumb2:.
Please you managed to rescue it, would have been a disaster, all that work a mojo killer for sure.
