Scale Model Shop

3 years to the day!

:astonished:
There was another site that everyone used - it was closed down shortly after their monthly publication ceased.
Luckily I had not just renewed my magazine subscription as quite a few lost their money.

Paul.
:smiling:
Strange, I can’t see the post from adt70hk that you replied to Paul? Have we lost one somewhere?

Tim., Andrew deleted his post. that's why you can't see it...... i can though lol

Yeah, It's 3 years today for me too and I have had a blast being here. I am proud to say, Ok, maybe not so proud to say, that I have finished 1 1/2 builds in the 3 years. Ok, so the track record isn't so good, but with luck and a few cold ones, in 3 months my record will improve when I retire. Then I will have more time to invest in this fine hobby and maybe I can then finally catch up on all the fine builds featured here.....

A big thanks to all you fine folks here and to Dave for all he does keeping us up to date on the new releases too....

Prost
Allen

PS, Dave, my wallet is really beginning to dislike you....LMAO!!!

Yes thanks for your input Dave, it's a thing to look fwd to when I log in .
As you can see I joined here in 2015, but never posted as I found the other site, think we all moved roughly at the same time.
Not a posting member of any other forum, and don't want to, have made some really good friends on here and couldn't imagine being anywhere else .

Thanks Dave, for all you have contributed to the Forum these past three years......I always look forward to your postings for new released or about to be released models. I won't have my third year till June 1, took me a while to find out where everybody went. You all have Robin Buckland to blame for my being here......he let the "cat" out of the bag.
Cheers to you Dave,
Rick H.

Hi

i'm also a 3 year anniversary yesterday, a nice crowd of people on this site.

i miss the MM mag; but on the plus side - I've saved a fair amount of money not subscribing to any magazine!

Peter

Thanks to you Dave for keeping us up to date, and from a personal point of view you were one of the first to welcome me here two years ago, so thank you.

Whilst everyone here is great, I’m only here for the planes and there are some terrific builders who I’ve picked up some useful skills from.
I have no interest in armour at all and since the majority of the community here do, it can be a little isolating. This is compounded by a complete lack of ‘bantmanship’ on my part (my friends will attest to this legend).

The thing I enjoy most, which I never expected, is sharing my builds. I didn’t think I’d post any at all when I joined; too self conscious. However you guys are all so encouraging that it makes it worth exposing my mediocre efforts to scrutiny.

Here’s to all of you :blow-kiss-2::tongue-out3::thumb2:

Hi Chris, We all work to the best of our abilities.....as you can see we all have varying degrees of success in our efforts.......don't sell yourself short just because you are not as good as the best modelers on the forum...I just recently learned this in my first attempt at using acrylics for figure painting. Always something to learn......have fun and enjoy the party! :thumb2: Rick H.

Chris. There would be more 'wingy things' finished if i actually pulled my finger out of my proverbial and finished some of my builds lol

Tim., Andrew deleted his post. that's why you can't see it...... i can though lol
Why was it delete

Rick. Was you on the MM forum don’t recall seeing you there or did you ghost it.

I was the "Phantom in the Opera" Lee, Don't tell the others but I was particularly interested to find out how many 1/87 scale modelers were there before I joined up. names I remember were Ian Simpson, Sandy Venot, Frank Lembo......had a gorgeous model railroad in the Alps and of course our good friend Paul E. as well as Robin Buckland from time to time. Wish they had all moved to this Forum. :thumb2: Rick H.
