Hi all;

Further to my last post, here are the latest 2 additions to my 41 Squadron in 1/48 build project - first up, the Inpact Bristol Bulldog. Considering this is a kit from the early 1960s, it was very good - no filler, great surface detail, and an easy build. But...God, I hate rigging! Finish is Alclad aluminium, with polished aluminium on the cowling panels. Finished as a 41 Squadron machine based at Northolt in 1931.

And second, the Tamiya Spitfire Vb. Everything you would expect from a Tamiya kit - great fit and engineering; marvellous. Resin exhausts and a bit of Eduard bling in the cockpit, plus prop and spinner from the Hasegawa Vb as Tamiya only supply the longer spinner/fatter props, which are wrong for this machine. Finished as a 41 Squadron aircraft flown by 'Buzz' Beurling DSO DFC DFM, Tangmere 1942.

Both very good additions to the collection, but I love that Bulldog!

Great idea behind the collection and these are a couple of nice additions, particularly the Bulldog.

Now I am back modelling I will need to pluck up the courage and try a biplane myself sometime.

Super work Andy, the Spitfire is very well done, but that Bulldog is superb.

Superb work Andy , a great couple of builds , I really love the Bulldog , It certainly doesnt look like a 40 odd year old kit , Youve made it look like its a new tooling! cheers tony

Thanks for the comments everyone. I picked up the Bulldog on ebay for about £6, and the Hawker Fury that I've posted earlier. I can highly recommend them - it's the same kit whether boxed by Inpact, Lifelike, Pyro or Lindbergh. But not Smer!

Both very nice. The Spit's gorgeous, but somewhat eclipsed by the colorful Bulldog :) Excellent work Andy

Very nice Andy. Some great and detailed work gone into those.

2 very good additions to the collection! How many more to go now? And have you had any thoughts as to how you might display the collection when finished?

2 great builds for sure

I think I might be down to single figures now! My Javelin is almost finished...

I'd like to display the whole collection at shows - I might have to be a one-man SIG!

Thanks for the great Build gong Andy (mac), but I think that you should have given it to Andy (snapper).

Doh! Must've had a senior moment, lol. :rolleyes:

Corrected now, and thanks for the heads-up Ian.

Beautifully made and it would be a pleasure to see these at a show-top drawer, quality builds.

Si:)
