Some of you may know that I spend more time painting in 2 dimensions than in 3. This is my latest attempt at painting our granddaughter.

"A bit of figure painting" John. All I can say is WOW!! That's like saying Usain Bolt does a bit of running :smiling3:

Oh John, the eyes, the hands, the leather, just perfect. Is she sitting on a motorcycle?

You call that a 'bit of figure painting !! I'd love to see what you call a lot of figure painting John, very realistic, (I struggle at times to paint 1/16 faces, and here you are knocking this out of the park..) very nice indeed buddy,
I often wonder what people are thinking about when they are being 'painted', is it ..''oo I can't move a muscle as I've got to look my best, or more like ''damn I've forgotten to empty the bath''..lol

Still working in 2D. My local sketch club set a challenge of making a self portrait in the style of a great artist. I chose Jan van Eyck. 5 inch by 5 inch oil on panel.

I like the very focused expression of those eyes; they reflect the ongoing artistic effort.

John, that's some fine brush work, excellent, your self-portrait is pretty cool.
