Hi all,
sorry about the unusual request.
My 13 year old son is completing his Duke of Edinburgh award and has to complete a number of sections one of which is entitled " Skill"... in effect he has to learn a new skill and he has decided to have a go at a bit of modelling. I am going to help him along with this but the problem is we need someone other than a family member to confirm he has attempted something. So....
I thought if I could get him to build something he could post it on the site and any comments would act as his evidence... The reason I mentioned Moderators or Staff is that we are required to provide the email address, phone number and position held of someone to act as his assessor... In effect all this would be would be confirming he has completed the model.... so would anyone be willing to do this and provide me with their details via a PM?
Many Thanks
Jason (and Charlie!)

Great idea Jason, and a worthwhile award to do Charlie , so the best of luck.
I can see no reason for one of the Mods or staff not saying yes, but I would always be willing, as for a position only retired these days. :smiling3:

Hi Jason and Charlie
I echo John's comments above. Great idea and have fun Charlie.

Thanks Chaps... I may have to take you up on that offer... in true Charlie style he has to confirm his intentions by 11:59pm today so if no staff or moderators come back to me before then......,!
Thanks
Jason

Jason, Charlie,
Stick it on the section where he wants to build - tank - plane etc and we will pass comments and advice, and good luck to him with the whole award.
Mike.

Hi all,
I'm pleased to say that Ian M has agreed to act as Charlie's assessor and we will be posting his progress on site as part of his evidence of learning so it would be really appreciated if people would comment with support or suggestions to back this up.
We are now in the progress of identifying a suitable project but I will identify it as his Duke of Edinburgh build once he makes a start and hopefully you can all chip in from there!
Thanks
Jason.

Don't forget to take photos that show him doing the work.

Thanks Guys... Thanks Ian... I have told Charlie that there will need to be plenty of pictures taken and posted... my job will be resisting the urge to take over!
Thanks again
Jason.

That's great. Credit to you Ian. It is far too easy to bemoan the youth of today but the Charlies of this world deserve encouragement and support.
Charlie - I look forward to seeing how you get on. Tell your dad to keep his hands off - it's your model :thumb2: . Have fun.

Excellent news and a big shout out for Ian :smiling3:.
Skills to be learned.
