Output has been a bit slow lately, decided to rearrange the shed while improving the insulation, this is the corner my new bench will go in, though I can't decide between an 8' long straight bench or an L shaped one.
Fear an L shape will leave me a dead corner, and a straight bench can be made from a single sheet of ply.

Gaps and screw heads will be filled and then lining paper before painting

Prefer 8' if wheels on chair or standing. Currently have 4' x 2' w/3levels as I now usually stand to work unless really close detail work requiring magnification. Probably a leftover from auto tech & model RR activity. PaulE

Now I have to consider making it standing height......I do like standing, especially when airbrushing, and the train layout is standing height..........

If you go L shaped you can have a build side and a paint side with an arm mounted PC screen in the “Dead“ corner which will be useful for references on either bench.

You can always add a bar stool for those occasions when you want to sit. The long bench is also helpful for dio constuction. You may have noticed the bar stool I have used for dio construction. The cause of several disasters. PaulE

But surely a bar stool means adding beer ....... ;)

I've actually got a 19" screen to go in, though the corner is the wrong side for viewing.

Bar height would allow a 'Kegger' or small fridge/wine cooler underneath. PaulE

Paint racks up. Decided not to paper or paint the walls, I want a bench back.
Bench was going to be built from a sheet of 3/4" ply but local yard only had 1/2" in stock. Next plan was a timber frame and a length of kitchen worktop, then I remembered the previous owner of the house had stuck some doors in the attic. So bench is now a door on top of a steel framed desk that cost me £10 from a local ReStore charidee shop.

Things have been slow to get to here as my brother in law passed away suddenly, he was 41 and his heart gave up while he was at the gym, doing something he loved.
