The more the merrier Dan,great subject in my completely biased opinion as well!

Good to see Balfanz being remembered too,he's less well known than some of JG 53's illustrious Gruppenkommandeure. He had nine victories when he was lost,relatively early in the war,on 24/6/41.

I think that picture is the one I have on page 66 of "Jagdgeschwader 53, A History of the Pik As Geschwader" by J.Prien. It was taken at Kirchberg in the autumn of 1939.

It's a very interesting scheme you've picked there.

Welcome to the GB Dan. As Steve said the more the merrier. That Airfix 109 is a cracker of a kit, I built one a while back when it first came out.

Unfortunately i couldnt get the decal sheet so i think ill be painting the pik-as and most of the other decals by hand....no problem.
